Underwhelming major perks in CS system

sswilhelm_27b14_ESO
Anyone other than me underwhelmed by the major perks in many constellations of the CS system (120-75-30-10)? Many of them are very situation dependent (proc when block or crit strike) or just silly (rez buffs, treasure chest payouts, and to a lesser extent potion dependent traits). When i put in the months (and it will be months or more) to get 120 CP in a single tree im looking for something more substantial than increasing a players magica regen when you revive them (Lord line). Im ok with the minor perks (though the diminishing returns hit fast - 0.1%/CP after 20-some points), but the many of the majors are a joke. Im cool with having trash benefits at 10 and 30 spots, but when you put in so much effort for 75 and 120 I would think we will be rewarded better than having our mount stamina costs eliminated out of combat (Tower line). Hoping that changes some, any opinions?

i agree 100% the major perks are just total crap they don't even make logical sense in the game we can sprint infinitely on horses anyway as long as we don't get hit so its a lousy perk

I imagine that you must be a PVEr. The perk you are describing is one of the few really useful perks available for PVPers. I imagine that all dedicated PVPers will make a point out of getting it.

Sure you can sprint indefinitely, but when you run out of stamina you can be knocked off of your horse easily by a ganker. Not having to use your horse's stamina to sprint will make it much easier to avoid being killed by a ganker.

A lot of these "rewards" for endless hours of play should just be: "You will get an e-mail from ZOS HQ congratulating you and linking you to the cash shop website." Most of them are that useful.

Tim - ill give you that stam for horse is useful for pvp, but is it really worth dedicating 120 skill points (actually 360 since only every 1 in 3 you get to put into that line) for that line? And also agree that they need more pvp-centric perks!

It most definitely is worth it to me. I'll be able to sprint my horse all the way from Point A to Point B without any worries of being knocked off. It is one of my primary objectives for PvP in 1.6. It will almost completely eliminate being ganked and killed before you can get out of the unbreakable dismounted CC.

It's very difficult to balance a game with just flat bonus increases. If a perk gave +20% crit, it would be completely overpowered. However, if it gave +20% crit after successfully blocking a heavy attack, then it's ok. It has some use and will make a player stronger overall. But it won't make a huge gap between a veteran player and a new one.

The Champion System is designed to be a horizontal progression system that only slightly increases your power. It's only fitting that the major buffs offer no competitive advantage.

Forget about reaching 120 points. Endgame starts at VR14 (later lvl 50), the CP are just a bonus on top.
