I have recently setup 2x R9 280 in Crossfire and I am having trouble understanding how to get it to work in ESO. They both work without problems in other games tested. However, in ESO, my 2nd GPU sits on idle. Yes, AMD Crossfire X is enabled.
From there, I am asking for help. I have read some other forum threads but nothing is really laid out well. Customer support answer: update your drivers and that is all. My drivers are 14.5 on the cards and Omega on CCC, so I believe I am ok there.
If anyone can guide me the rest of the way, I would much appreciate it :)
Also: vsync? on or off? Of course, this is a question left for after I actually get it to work :open_mouth:

Create a Custom Profile for ESO

Scroll down to the bottom and under CrossfireX mode selected "Optimize1x1"

using AFR just causes your GPU's to run 100% all the time generating un needed heat. 1x1 will give you max framerate with much less temps.

Also Morphological filtering works for ESO and takes all the jaggies away so you can also enable that on your crossfire profile and turn off the in game AA in ESO, it will look much better.

    regards! :)

    Hello everyone,
So here is what you can do, in basic form:
    - Pull up your AMD Catalyst Control Center
    - Left panel, click "Performance" then "AMD CrossfireX"
    - Make sure the box is checked for "Enable AMD CrossfireX"
-Windows 8 users will have another option under this, but I dont know what is says verbatim as I am a 7 user. Check this box also though.
    - Make sure your game is in fullscreen and NOT fullscreen windowed. (this is what my problem ended up being)
    - You should be good to go.

You can set up a profile, if you wish, via Left Panel then "Gaming" > "3D Application Settings". Click on "Add" in the right window and navigate to your Zenimax folder to locate and add the "eso.exe" file. From there you can mess with CCC's setting for games. I am not experienced in this and simply go with the application settings (game settings).

Thx for the insight woodsro. My experience using Morphological filtering made the UI/Game graphics a bit blurry, or as if there was a haze on the screen. Having this off gave me a crisper image. I stuck with AA on and Morphological off.

I keep vsync on, which locks my fps to my refresh rate of monitor. So 60fps on the usual. In towns such as Deshaan (EP pledge home) and Belkarth, Craglorn, I only get around 35-45fps (high traffic areas). Trials, dungeons, solo instances...places where the population on instance is locked to max of 12 (Trials), I keep a steady 60fps. Cryodiil.....well, its Cryodiil.....20fps in huge fight and 30-40fps in medium fight. To get more than 60fps, you would have to have vsync off. This, however, will give you some screen tearing and stutters, which in my opinion is not worth the extra fps that you wont really notice anyhow.

Thx GaryA for the response, and I hope this explanation covers the ground. This is only for AMD Crossfire users though. Maybe you can help out the SLI guys with a mini explain? :)
Also to note: my first customer support ticket simply told me to update drivers. The link in that response was for nVidia and my ticket was clearly labeled AMD. A little lacking. However, I replied back with that knowledge and asked for some clearer help. Though I had things figured out before the new help response, the new response was very comprehensive and laid out exactly what I was looking for. So, ticket one: fail :( ticket two: success :). Getting it on that first go would have been nice though. :) Anyways, hope this helps you refine some of that great customer support you guys do. :) Cheers!

Last note: If you are interested in making sure that you have it working, here is a great guide.
