PTS Templates and un-leveled skills

Okay so EU gets the their characters on PTS at later date, fine.

But when you create a char from a VR14 template, while all the trees are maxed out to level 50 (you can unlock all the passives) if you unlock a skill you have no XP towards it. Basically we have v14s with rank I unmorphed skills, which need to be levelled.

Much as I'd like to test stuff on PTS, I'm not going to grind skill levelling at Spellscar. Templates on previous PTS releases had skill xp maxed out so you could instantly unlock and morph a skill to rank 4.

I've checked the books you get and there's nothing to grant you skill xp. Am I missing something @ZOS_GinaBruno‌?

You don't really expect us to grind skill levels on PTS right? Someone tell me I'm missing something please :(

How will people otherwise check tooltips and workings of morphed I - IV skills?

Think in the history there has been issues were II and III levels was not functioning as they should.

I do agree that there should be template that is fully maxed too.

Considering that skills spend only about 0.000001% of their time in any rank other than morphed Rank IV, any bugs where skills behaved weirdly in Ranks II or III have never been game breaking. It's not like you can chose to keep a skill at rank II anyway.

There are far more important things to test in terms of overall game balance and we can't do that at the moment.

How about books that level your skill xp and if you want to max them you read the books, while if you want to test the rank progression you don't.

All they are doing with their current implementation is basically turn away a vast number of EU testers who can't be bothered with the levelling.

Do not see it like that. US players can test the skills already up with their characters copied. So skill will be tested and final morph.

But they must also tested the game .... (can not be said) leveling. They decided not to morph the European as they are forced to test for a change we are still the pigeons

The reality is that this testing won't happen.

We had a team of six from my guild ready to test. As soon as they saw they'd have to level skill via grinding or questing they were like "F that, lets wait for the character copy".

We're not paid testers, we're paying customers. We're not gonna spend hours and hours levelling chars to test levelling for ZOS.

Needless to say you need to be killing VR mobs to get XP, something that is hard with low-level skills and sub-optimal template builds.

    Sigh.
