PTS - What happened to copied characters?

It was more important to copy the US characters over, than to honour their Word and let the EU characters remain.

hahaha why is this a surprise to you guys? It's an American company for Mara's sake. This is akin to non English speakers complaining that the new facial animation were only done for English.

We had our copies days before the patch. Removed right before the patch to be re-added in next week. Lol. And templates atm are joke.

I would have greatly accept playing with my old copy instead of this.

I have one character on PTS named "Swarog" and another one on Live with the same name "Swarog". Does it will be replaced or renamed when characters will be copied from Live to PTS?

Pretty certain EU and NA characters won't coexist.

Hey everyone. Just a heads up that we'll be performing the EU character copy during tomorrow's PTS maintenance. Full disclosure: this does mean that NA characters that were previously copied to PTS will no longer be there.

@Swarog‌ - you won't need to do anything to your character's name on either server. Your NA character will persist, but the copy that was created for PTS will be removed.

Thanks for the clarification. That's really unfortunate given the quality of the templates we got this time around. People want to test builds and encounters, not grind skills on the PTS.

Say what? Our PTS NA copies are being deleted and we will only be able to use templates from now on? Or is there some context I'm missing to this conversation?

Thank you very much for doing this. I hope NA players won't be too upset about it, but if it isn't possible to have both megaservers' characters on the PTS, then flip-flopping between NA and EU is the fairest option so everyone can test their builds.

Yes, NA charas will be deleted. And EU ones will be on for the next week.

As an NA player I think it's only fair that you guys get to use your copies as well, but I do think the templates should come ready to test with skills ranked up so we can experiment with different builds and classes that we may not have on live. As I am sure you have seen, it's hard to gauge anything from the state of the templates this time around.

I agree. I am on EU and I also think they should change templates to fully skilled ones during next maintenance, since offering templates without leveled skills proved to be not a good idea last week. So at least the US templates can benefit from it from now on.

Agreed. Also, templates should either offer more sets (namely crafted sets) or unlock all traits so players can craft them. If anyone wants to "test" the crafting, they can always create a new character from scratch and not use an end-game template.

We'll be fine! But we may have to bug you for crafted sets since apparently the tamplates don't have crafting skill?

Why would copying EU characters over to the PTS overwrite or otherwise affect the NA character copies?

Preventing name collisions and such? Possibly also behind the scenes stuff like unique character IDs?

Boo.. Hiss.. From this, i would exterpolate that 1.6 only has another week on PTS, so most of the 40 plus bug reports I have sent in will be looked at in "another" update. Especially since some of them are based off of info and nuances I would have only if I was playing a character I had built from the ground up.
