Duffs and Debuffs demystified (hopefully)

I asked here: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/148159/pts-patch-notes-v1-6#latest but I would like to open this up for more discussion/clarification as I can't find where Buffs/Debuffs interaction was explained fully.

My original question:
Do major/minor debuffs stack together?
For example:
Player A applies Major Maim: Reduces the damage your target can do by 30% to the Mantikora (or any raid boss) at the same time Player B applies Minor Maim: Reduces the damage your target can do by 15%. Would this then mean that the Mantikora (or any raid boss) would do 45% less damage while the 2 durations of those 2 debuffs overlapped?

Furthermore, does one debuff override another of the same type? So if Player A applies Major Maim for 8 seconds and Player B applies Minor Maim to the same target after 2 seconds of Player A's Major Main was applied, does that mean that amount of damage the target does is reduced by the last effect applied, in this case would the target go from doing 30% less damage to 15% less?
Or, are those two effects combined for their collective duration, so the boss would do 45% less damage for the 6 seconds both debuffs durations overlapped then for 15% less damage for the 2 seconds remaining on the Minor Maim Debuff?

The same would also be helpful to know concerning player buffs. Can we stack major/minor buffs together at the same time for a combined effect?

In particular:
Minor Force: Increases critical damage amounts by 15%
Major Force: Increases critical damage amounts by 40%

Can we self apply both buffs to a combined effect of 55% for the buffs duration? Does one buff override the other, if so, is the priority given to the stronger of the two buffs?

Would be awesome to get some official feedback since this will likely be a big deal to anyone interested in trials/leaderboards.

Thanks!

This is the first thing I'm looking to find out, I'm still only on 15% and have seen nothing on this.

However, that said. I do recall ESO Live, there was a mention of having "major buffs and having minor buffs..." but yes, that was then. I'm thinking it will be a "you can have one or the other, not both", but if this is the case, what's to stop party members from unintentionally griefing?

Player A inflicts Major Maim on Boss
Player B inflicts Minor Maim on Boss, removing Major Maim from player A

I can't imagine the above example actually going like that, but I'd rather not assume. But yes, in ESO live when they spoke on the champion system, I recall saying we may use one major buff or one minor buff. Likely major buffs do not scale down to a minor buff if you use two major buffs but meh, will soon find out.

The way I understood it and everyone I've discussed with understood it, is that you can have one instance of any major and minor buff and a target can have one instance of any major and minor debuff regardless of where those buffs or debuffs come from.

So yes, you can have both major and minor maim on a boss at the same time, whether you inflict both or you inflict one and another player inflicts the other.

Edit: You are certainly not limited to only a single major and a single minor buff/debuff per character, immovable grants two major buffs by itself.

A useful UI feature from ZOS that clears up confusion about the underlying game mechanics? Doubtful. I would settle for my Srendarrs working on the PTS. Pain in the ass.
