How can they fix it when it isn't broken?sarttsarttsarttub17_ESO wrote: »because idiots will continue to cry fix when its isnt broken. If you die whoever killed you was either hacking/exploiting or the skill is just broken.
lmao
Except for the fact that ZOS mentioning they have a fix for Dark Cloak means that even ZOS is saying it's broken.
I know that's difficult for you "idiots" to grasp... but do try to get with the program.
It's a mite confusing for me, because it works gloriously. You can ask anyone who regularly fights me, it's a hell of a skill. "Fixing" it, I worry, will make us NBs crazy OP. Because it's already really, really good.
so you have found a way to make its .5 second duration useful?
good for you. I am impressed.
It depends on what you want it to do. For people who want it to be an "escape from a raid while they are all shooting at you" I think there will be disappointment. However, in a smaller fight it's fantastic. Speced to Dark Cloak I have no trouble using it cleanse all DoTs and make myself unable to be targeted for the 3 seconds.
You have to be smart about it, but once you get the hang of it it's pretty good. The best success I have is to use it before I'm hit, which makes the ranged attack miss me and then I can float around for the next few seconds while everything misses, and come out of it. If I'm in heavy melee, I find it's best to dodge roll first and than hit it in the moment while everything misses.
I think people get frustrated with it because it's easily breakable and doesn't give them that "total darkness" feel they're expecting. I was in that crowd for a while. But I think that if it actually worked that way it'd be hella OP.
It works beautifully as a damage avoidance skill, which I notice when I fight other Nightblades who mark me. I don't have the regen and damage avoidance time, as they can constantly get on and pressure me. I never appreciate how essential it is to my fighting style until I'm not able to use it, and realize how amazing it is to have those seconds to regen, restore, and reposition for the next attack.
I'm more than happy to fight anyone who is curious to see how I use it and show how it works for me. I think it's an amazing skill, and I wish more Nightblades would learn to use it as it is (an extremely useful skill) instead of the skill they wish it was.
I know exactly how you use it. However, not every NB uses it the same way as you. Use of it in any other way has a high chance of it not working, meaning the skill does not work in many areas meaning the skill is broken.
Or you're expecting it to do more than it should. It's one skill, not an I Win button .
I should be able to escape with it... not have it break on me as soon as I use it. It only lasts 2.9 seconds and is easily beaten by detect pots and magelight as it is. The least it can do is last the full 2.9 seconds.
Some one using a pot with a 30 sec cool down to counter an instant cast is fine by me. You're also wrong, magelight is not effective against it.
Really it's just a usage issue. It's a combat skill that makes NBs deadly, and also happens to be the 2nd best escape tool in the game. Seems to me like you want to have the cake and eat it too.
Again, if more people used it to decimate their opponents you wouldn't need to rely on it to be a sure fire escape skill.
I don't want to use it as a combat skill... I only want to use it as an escape skill. In fact, I ONLY ever used it(I no longer even use the skill, I switched it for something else long ago) as an escape skill. I do not want the best of both worlds, I want the best of one of them. I do not expect to be able to do both. Dang right I want it as a good escape skill. Why is me wanting it as a good escape skill not as "good" as you wanting it for a pure combat skill?
I don't even have the mana to use it as a combat skill, im a stamina build!!:/ im in most-all medium armor, with points into health and stamina, I CANT use it as a combat skill, so how could I possibly get the" best of both worlds" to begin with? I can ONLY use it as an escape skill, and, surprise!!! it often broke long before I could make the attempt. The tooltip says 2.9 seconds, not 0.5.(or 0.1 on the rare occasion)
But of course, it would be "OP" if it worked as an escape skill........ forgetting about the fact one of the classes has access to a skill that teleports them across the map almost instantly.. yeah THATS not OP, but a 3 second invisibility spell is....I make that comparison for a reason, not just to complain about BE(nor am I complaining abut BE)
defend it how you will, but cloak is broken. It lasts 0.5/2.9 seconds at least half the time it is used. Either the tooltip needs to be changed to 0.5, or the skill needs to be fixed. one of the two.

I guess you'll play it how you like. I find it a bit silly that you prefer escaping to killing, but I can't really help that.
All I can say is that you're not using it the way it should be used. You're trying to make it do something it wasn't meant to do, and no surprise, it's not doing it.
Have fun tho, and please don't ruin it for the people who are actually making it work for them.

So it should only be used for combat...
well, I just don't believe that. I do believe it should be used for both, however, both does not work right now. As of now, only one of the uses work.
And yes, I want to escape from a group of 4+ players... I want to live to fight another day, its blasphemy, I know, but that is simply how I and many others operate. I don't use a perma block damage shield stacking shield using build: Therefore, I need a way to escape from battle when I need to, and cloak, in my opinion, is supposed to serve that purpose(along with combat usage for the ones with mana builds)
I respect your opinion however, and its not worth arguing for 3 pages over it, so im going to shut up now:) Let us hope they don't do something ridiculous like raise the duration to 5 seconds or something like that.
these complaints are before 1.6...

post vids or it never happened

The reason I necro'd the old threads is because guess what it's still broken. But if players start new threads ZOS closes them and says there is already a thread on this subject. So that's where I posted.
I don't think we should have to roll dodge twice to have a 50/50 shot of it working. Do any other classes have a skill that requires them to do that?
I agree detect pots aoe us doing damage including dots should pull us out of it. but not other things that are I also think the duration is to short I think it should be about 4.9 seconds.
Why @FERGRUSH is bothered about what I post is anybodies guess but as an EMP trading shield stacking, chain bolt escaping sorc he probably hates any idea of balance.

Your attempts at slandering The Lord FENGRUSH will only work against you.

You posted in 5 or 6 different threads saying this is still broken. How is it still broken? You have to use it twice for the skill to work?
Also, your insults are a bit outdated as well. Your attempts at slandering The Lord FENGRUSH will only work against you.
