The 100 crown/month credit is insulting.

At launch, no end game PvE (Crag and Undaunted dailies were later)

Guilds had horrible functionality till they increased added kiosks, fixed the stores themselves, and generally improved the tools (but they are still short of what most MMOs have)

Animations; first person facial, and now combat, are all being redone to look better.

PvP wasn't even dealt with, 5 months for doors to work (most of the time), no attempts to fine tune any kind of balance, more content was removed FC, Mercenaries, Deer, population caps were lowered. What got added? PvP was advertised as a core aspect of endgame.

These are all basic elements that make up the core of an MMO's gameplay. Now the entire game is being redone. 1.6 and phase 3 of the Champion system(presumably 1.7) will remove end game leveling and replace it, they are changing the games math, and many skills are all being tweaked. They have been begging for us to play 1.6 when it goes to PTS and give feedback.

We paid for a beta, period. All the content, updates, everything, was simply to create a core game, the B2P transition is basically a relaunch of a more complete game, which we paid to build. We don't really even know what 'DLC' will mean because this game has never had an actual full expansion, so people who might want to be 'plus' members are unaware of the actual benefits, and I doubt they will lay out their planned DLC for 2015 for us.

This really wouldn't upset me, except that ZoS clearly went out of their way to deceive us. Originally they had planned for a cash shop, but later said it was scrapped and they wanted a sub only financial model (clearly this was a lie). They had multiple devs emphatically and in no uncertain terms stating they would be sticking with the sub model and had no plans to change it (also a lie). There is a Guar mount in the preview for the cash shop, they mentioned the mount back in April, but then we heard nothing about it so it has probably been finished for a long time. When the 6 month sub removal came up, they just lied. They could have thrown out non-commitment commitments or corporate doublespeak but they didn't, they flat out lied. They used their paying customers to be their play-testers for the real launch. And to 'reward' us we get a paltry amount of in-game currency for their new game. It is insulting, 100 crowns is an insult to us, that value is so low it has no meaning. They could have been cool and offered everybody 1500 for each month, and probably would have gotten less push-back, but they didn't, they didn't offer 1000, or 500. They offered a sum so low, 1 year of paid beta testing is less than 1 month for the real launch.

They could have been upfront from Day 1 that they were going to eventually add a cash shop. They could have just came clean when they removed the 6 month sub or simply made no comment. But no, they chose to straight up lie, beg us to finish their beta by play-testing 1.6, and finally offer their loyal customers 30 pieces of silver. It is insulting, this is just like the 30 CP issue except that instead of a bad choice in development being behind the issue, it was pure greed.

The game was fine. It is the people running the game that are the problem. ZoS now has earned an awful reputation for how they treat their customers. So kind of half-assed apology (because we will never get a real one) and an ACTUAL gesture to show their appreciation (like 1500 crowns/month) is about the least they could do to save their reputation.

    Deeds, not words.

I is stupid at math so pls be nice.

The OP wants $5 worth of Crowns as reimbursement which equals 500 Crowns. Using the example of 1500 complimentary crowns for one month subscription.

So if I spent one year worth on monthly subscriptions I would be reimbursed $12 out of my $180...Thanks for the $12 ZoS. I don't know much math but already you can see how valuable math is to make sure you don't get exploited. BRB, Gonna buy me some math books.

I don't know how I feel about asking for more crowns for our sub time, I'd certainly take them if offered but I don't really feel it fits the bill. I certainly am of the opinion that they need to do more for those who have stayed subbed believing they were paying forward. For me personally the amount of content was fairly lackluster and I assumed that as this was a sub model my fees were going towards future content, which it has but now that content is being walled off.

I personally would like to see the first or one free dlc for all subscribers provided they have been subbed for a certain amount of time and some other frills. I don't necessarily feel I should be given something of super high value, just something(s) that make me feel like they actually appreciate and care about those of us who were here paying a sub in a game model that no longer really supports a sub model.

LOL, this thread is the entitlement generation in full flight it seems.

@Fromtesonlineb16_ESO Considering I paid $80 for the imperial edition client and then an additional $15 a month for continued access, despite the fact that it costs less than .50 cents from each of us a month to maintain the servers, of course I'm going to assume that the extra $14.50 was partly going towards developmental cost of future content updates. Then, when the game goes B2P and some of those content updates, which have already been finished, are not included in the native B2P client, I'm going to be a little upset.

I think we can all agree that we shouldn't have to pay for anything twice, right? When you fund a project on kickstarter, would you be okay if the developer then tried to sell the finished product to you, despite that fact that you heavily invested in it's creation?

I wonder how much your money is worth then, because I got my money's worth from this game a long time ago. Maybe your country has a currency that is only a fraction of what the US dollar is worth. Then I could understand if you had to spend your monthly income on a video game. Here, it was pretty cheap.

Anyone considering that paying $15 a month of subscription is just to have access to the game is ignorant at best.

As others said, the operating costs is barely a few cents per player even if you were to factor IT and support staff. This is an economy of scale and IT resources have gone cheaper and cheaper in the last decade.

The deal with the subscription model has always been, and as we were sold on pre launch by this very company, that the bulk of the subscription goes for futur content and continued improvement of the game.

We already paid for the Imperial City and those 6 DLCs showed in the streams.
We should not have to pay for them again.

And as a side note, to accept the removal of the subscription is to forfeit any rights to ongoing improvements. The game will focus on what earns it revenue, and that's certainly not new mechanics or systems they can't put in a cash shop.

No. We should be given full subscriber access without having to actually subscribe. We paid to beta test this game it seems and the features we were led to believe we would see won't come till b2p. We endured ZOS' lies, a lack of fixes and updates that I would expect to see in a subscription game. Seems the decent thing to do, not a paltry 100 crows per month, silly pet or whatever and some very minor boosts.

Come on ZOS, show some respect.

That's about the figure I'm anticipating, too. So what the OP is proposing is 500 crowns per subscription month rather than the 100 we're getting, using this guess at the price point.

I'll take them, certainly. I'm in line for about 4800 crowns at the start of Tamriel Unlimited. EJ's proposal would just about double that. But how many guar mounts can I ride?

im in for barber maybe a mount but mostly costumes to gimme a fresh look compared to the 500x i crafted a set of mix matched armor during 8 storyline playthroughs

oh, man, definitely barber for me, too, and a trip to the face doctor for a couple of my toons. The few moments I let myself do face to grab my name during the initial stampede? I'd love to be able to fiddle with that again.

I just need that for my main, I couldn't zoom in on her face because of a bug.

@Boloboffin Well, you could use the extra crowns to purchase the imperial city aspect of cyrodiil or the PVP portion of the justice system when it's released. Not mention Wrothgar and Murkmire, that is if you're not planning on maintaining your sub after the game goes B2P.

I guess I should have said: I do plan on maintaining at this point. But, yes, if you let a subscription lapse, the crowns could go to that.

@Mettaricana‌, we will be able to purchase DLC in the Crown Store.

    https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/
What is downloadable content (also known as DLC)?

DLC for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited consists of game packs with optional adventuring content (zones, quests, etc.) added to the game to enhance your game play experience should you choose. It is not required.

How can I get this downloadable content?

DLC will be available for purchase in the Crown Store on an a la carte basis. DLC purchased on an a la carte basis will be available to you for as long as The Elder Scrolls Online is available. Members of ESO Plus will receive complimentary access to all DLC game packs for the duration of their membership.

sweet means i can be subbed buy the DLC eventually for semi free cancel my sub for a while til the next dlc is nearing release resub gain my month crowns and buy next dlc wil maintaining most of the bonuses. this business model im sold lol

@ZOS_GinaBruno Hey Gina, could you or another dev offer any input on this matter? I don't mean to cause issues or come across as petty, but I feel as though I'm bringing up several good points here and would like to know why it seems as though ZOS will be charging us for content that has either already been developed and/or has been bought and paid for with our subscription fees. I realize this is a business and the company needs to make a large profit for it's investors. However, I feel as though a higher reimbursement rate of crowns to sub time is in order and would go along way towards assuaging any hurt feelings and ire on our part.

    Thanks in advance!

You are aware @EJRose83‌ that they will just claim it is "unfinished" o r "not ready for release" and then decline your proposal right? That is all you will get out of this greedy [SNIP] company that has now become @ZOS

I dont know if you can call it entitlement though. Sure it is a fine line but he has a very valid point. Our compensation for helping them develop everything for the console is 100 crowns a month? It is digital currency that has no monetary value aside from what they assign to it. Therefor since ZoS gets to play Federal reserve it is of no burden to them to actually compensate more per month we have been subscribed.
