Almost all their time now probably will be spent adding baubles for sale to the cash shop.
So.... We can pretty much give up hope on ever seeing Akavir...
this is exactly how i feel. paying twice for the development of some of the stuff they showed us. The main reason i stayed sub was looking forward to Imperial City. Thats what got them my 15bucks a month, if they come out with it and i have to buy it again as DLC ill feel kinda ripped off. The sub we already paid is supposed to be used for future content. why would i pay someone to make something so they can sell it to me again at the same price as someone that didn't pay them to make it.
You seriously hoped that would happen?So.... We can pretty much give up hope on ever seeing Akavir...

Pay your sub as you do now and you get it all. whats the problem?

This is Spot on, im not sure what people are complaining about.
The only thing anyone should be complaining about is as follows:
They now have shifted resources to focus on a new delivery model and a cash store that will have on going costs and will take away resources from developing the game.
I am no where near as annoyed as others in this thread but my biggest issue with this change is that the development team will now not have everyone focused on improving the game by adding new content or improving or creating new system. It will now have development teams and cycles focused on creating crap that will make money and sell in the shop.
The above is why development slows down on the content side and why I hate B2P/F2P cash shop based games as the whole mind set of what is prioritized for development changes. The focus is now on a bunch of stuff they would never have even worried about before as for the most part its die fodder but now they have an outlet to sell it and make money the priority changes.
Look I get the business side of it I'm a Software Product Manager myself but i know what this means from a resourcing perspective and it means less focus on content as someone has to focus on keeping the store fresh with items and managing any bugs and issues they create.

If the subscription model stayed as is, then you'd still have to pay a monthly fee to access that content. The only difference in this system is that you might opt to pay a one-time fee for certain content instead.
