Stealth Nerf Grind

AFAIK there are still grind spots just not one dungeon that gives you vet lvl in 30 minutes. They seem to fix the most extreme grinds which is good. Otherwise they could just give option at the start of the game that you already have VR14 char would you like another one?

Anyway most of this will go away with CP and removal of veteran levels as all you need to do is to use day or two to grind lvl 50 char and it will be on par with your other maxed chars.

So with the latest patch Rkund was stealth nerfed from 20k xp to 1800xp.

I'm not complaining, I just don't see how an instanced dungeon disrupts other players like the Scorpion grind did.

My point of this thread though: ESO has some really creative players, if someone finds a new awesome grind spot. Instead of sharing it in the forums or in zone, can we come up with a way to let players know WITHOUT letting ZOS know?

Exactly. Ask in your guilds, or in SAY at the door.

I totally called this too - and some of my guildies LOL'd at me when I said *Cue Stealth Nerf to Rkund!*

Who does ESO even want to nerf this one area so badly? How does it even serve them?

the fastest way to grind is questing...... i hope they dont nerf that too or were in for a really *** time

    Has-No-Heart - Templar Enchanter (v4) FUBAR
Ambadassador - Dragon knight (v1) Naked with no future (returned from the naked realm to tank PvE)

If you are a pvper, or anything other then a grinder who wants multiple alts at max level this is, in theory, a good fix for you in the long run of the game. If you like to pvp would you not like to feel forced to go to pve areas to get sufficient CP points when it goes live? In order for them to balance these areas they need to get rid of major grind spots when they arrive, this doesn't mean there shouldn't be some form of grind spot, but nothing to major that will make balancing CP gain annoyingly hard (spell scar to my knowledge is still not affected, but its grind capabilities has a max limit of players in theory). It is best for them to try and get rid of as many now so that players could possible find the areas that lead to drastic gain and they can fix it before the CP system goes live.

I don't think trying to hide it will nescessarily work.
    A) they play the game to with normal characters so if a normal player can find out so can they.
B ) they have hinted that they are able to track xp gain from individual players and could just look for discrepancies between them.

Why they took so long to nerf it is a question, could be there was some internal debate on if it was detrimental or not to the game (or they were waiting till close to the release of the champion system).

I'm just gonna cry right now. Got 5 V14, leveling my 6th on another alliance. Don't want to spend hours on that. Grinding is just too important, stop nerfing every nice Grinding spot in this game :c

Odds are they're preparing for 1.6. The idea is that everything should be equal, so they don't want grinding to yield more CP than any other in-game activity. Hopefully, it encourages people to actually play the game.

Keep dreaming, we're going to farm the [snip] out of those points, players always find a way.

Good, it was a horrible way to grind to begin with. There are still good, even though less efficient places to grind, but those will probably be overrun pretty soon. But anything's better than doing the same quests for a 3rd or 4th time.

And I just hope they deliver on their promise and dungeons and trials will actually give good exp after 1.6.

Nope. They are the guys who run the server. They don't need to read forums to discover your secret grind spot, they only need to look at the server statistics:

1, was there a character who gained lots of experience suspiciously fast?
2, where was this character when it happened?

The only thing you can do to preserve your grind spot is to keep it's location to yourself. Because

3, is this used by enough players to warrant allocating developer man-hours on a fix?

Once the Champion system hits live expect the community to find plenty more ways and areas to grind in. It's to be expected when there is level barrier between players and the content they want.

    :/

People have various reasons to do the grinds. Maybe they have played the content that ZOS has spend years slaving over and likes to try another weapon and needs to level that up. Or the content they enjoy is PvP and they need to get to the max to be competitive in there. Even case where they have already gone through 3 times the 1-50, silver, gold, craglorn and just like to fast level their 4th char.

I like to grind because I want to focus on the quest story. I just get killing all the trash mobs out of the way in a grind to max level, then I go back and do all the quests, listen to the dialog, etc. Sometimes I do not have the time to quest during the day, but I have few minutes to play. So grinding is a quick log on, play some and log out deal also. When I do have time, I really like get into the quest story. I just enjoy playing the quest at max level so I can "skip" the combat and focus on the story.

So you are saying that YOUR PLAY STYLE is better then my play style?

They are many different play styles in the game. One style is NOT better or worse then the other style.

    Some play styles may include:
    1) Questing
    2) PVP
    3) Raids / Dungeon crawling
    4) Grinding
    5) Etc Etc

One does not have to like all the play styles, but one should respect other people's play style.

I am not surprised they nerfed it. It was an exploit trumpeted all over everywhere. Maybe a little surprised it took so long. I don't grind exploits because I don't find it fun but you'd have to be hiding under a rock to miss hearing about that one.

I am disappointed that since the very beginning ZOS has repeatedly stealth nerfed a variety of things without putting them in the patch notes and then turned around and had the reps talk about how they are being transparent with us.

But perhaps whoever is green lighting these changes isn't being transparent with the rest of the staff.
Happy All the Holidays To You and Yours!

This is bad. What if they find out where we GRIND/FARM alchemy mats and Nerf it to Oblivion? !

Dee Tick have mercy on us!

They will. One shall not be able to grind stack of potions faster then one stack per month !

Actualy i think that all those grind spots nerfs are preparation for CP system.
They make sure you wont be able to grind CP's too fast and you would actualy need half of your life to get max CP's

than they will have to lower the needed XP for skills and skill lines drastically.

This is a BAD decision. Why to nef rundk?

I DONT WANT TO DO QUESTS. I wanna WAIT to continue questing until champion system comes out. SO, this is the way zos wants to keeps us subbed?

I'm NOT a casual player. I'm just another random player getting mad because of ZOS decisions. So, what do do know until CP comes out?? Do the same quests over and over again with other alts???
