Testing 1.6 on PTS -*WHEN*- it comes out; what do want see tested?

HeroOfNone
HeroOfNone
✭✭✭✭✭
Since the streamer post focused mainly on which streamers were going to stream stuff on PTS, I decided to branch a separate topic for folks to ask specifics about 1.6. Assume that most of us will be going over the following basics:

1. Class (dk, nb, sorc, temp) ability lines
2. Dual wield
3. 2 hander
4.Sword and board
5. Destro staff
6. Heal staff
7. Vampire line
8. Werewolf line
9. Champion system
10. Justice system
11. Dungeons
12. Trials
13. PVP
14. Any test cases provided by ZOS

So, what else do you specifically want to see? Is there a build you want? Are you curious if anyone but a templar can heal through an AA Trial? Want to see how much damage you take from a catapult while wearing 8 piece of heavy armor? If you csn, make your questions specific! Post build links if there is something specific you want!

I'll attempt to capture any questions and post an attachment at the end of each day before the testing starts. Keep in mind that some things we test may get fixed or changed as well, based on testing.

Tune into twitch during 1.6 testing to see some of these answered live or in prior broadcasts.

List of Test Requests

That's a given as #13, but anything specific? PVP builds? Siege damage? Heavy armor in pvp?

Mainly the differences in changes to heavy and light armor . Shield stacking . Seige damage . The effects on pulse groups with AOE caps lifted .

Question : On the PTS can you instantly select vampire and werewolf options to test those or do you have to go through the whole bite process ?

    Alright got it

As for the vampire/werewolf: they have character templates with it but not leveled up if you get infected on a non-template char. Since ou r characters were copied over though it we should be able to test any of our own

Locate and use a new Provisioning recipe. Show a new purple recipe v10 one if possible.

I want to see the new magicka regen passive for Templars, I presume that's included in your #1 on the list!

Might be harder to do but new template characters get some equipment coffers and stuff. @ZOS_GinaBruno could you confirm if a few of the new recipes will be sent to us? Also will we be sewing part of the provision overhaul in 1.6? Should it be something I add to the test list?

EXP gains from each source (PvP kills, PvP quests, PvE quests, PvE kills [dungeon, solo mobs, bosses, etc...], achievements, etc...) This is one of the most important aspects for me as they stated that they will be ensuring that all sources of EXP are viable. Since I no longer have silver/gold available, I need something I can grind, unfortunately.

Then, obviously, the actual CS point application and increase in player power. If it's too much it will break the game just as bad as if it wasn't enough. WILL 30 points provide me with the resources to perform the way I am now in current content? Since, as they stated, though it is getting a bit hard to trust what they say, they want us to perform the exact same now as we did before 1.6.

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/categories/official-news-discussions

or one very similar to it. It will have a list of: "We want to test this today", or "this weekend". They will also have open world testing, but beta testing a patch also involves focused things, like them announcing server wide, "we need every player on the server to port to Cyrodiil, Roebuck Keep and engage the guadian". Or "everyone head to the nearest town and attack a guard to make sure they are unkillable."
Power level to CP160 in a week:
Where is the end game? You just played it.
Why don't I have 300+ skill points? Because you skipped content along the way.
    Where is new content? Sigh.

I am not so worried about the combat skills, I will figure out what is best for me with what is available. See, I am one of those who plays the way I want, which means for example I have a DK in Heavy Armor because to me, a Knight wears metal in game. I have a NB that does not cast, and I had a Sorcerer in Medium Armor because it looked better until I was in the 30's, then Light Armor looked better.

What I am worried about is how town and building farming will be with the Justice System. Will conditions make it so that Motif and Provisioning ingredients increase in price in the Guild Stores? And by how much? It all depends on what they flag as owned. If Wayrest Castle/Bank become buildings that have owned containers, that could have a huge impact on Motif pricing. If the Inns get owned containers that could have a huge impact on Provisioning ingredient pricing. Yes, these can be farmed out in the hinterlands, but the container density is much lower out there than in the towns.

That is what i am most concerned about. Mostly because I am sitting on a bunch of Motifs and have almost a fully stocked Provisioning Mule. Do I sell, use or toss what I have before 1.6 comes out and what do I keep are the things I am going to test.

I am also going to see how long it takes to gain CPs with questing and with grinding/world exploration activities.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Sure thing. At the very least I will be using my main and doing several daily quests, the common grind in craglorn, and I have a few lowbies that I will try to level to see the effects of the CP

Correct, that's what number 14 will cover. But with several pages of change notes I'm certain viewers will still want some personalized questions answered like "will my build still work"

While we can check droprates, there can be easy tweaks to raise or lowerror them I personally will be taking a look at the mechanics of the justice system, seeing how easy it is to sneak around, un guarded boxes, how easy is it to escape, etc. Hard to speculate about the market though until you know what the challenges are and until we see the drop rate at go live.

pretty large, its the entire game all over again. remember that if you download now you will still need to wait on 1.6 to be released. just turn it on while you're asleep or at work when it goes live and it should be ready when you get on.

Most issues are found in PvP so I'd say we need to get the bigger guilds in each faction to communicate with one another, schedule a day(s) to do PTS PvP and jump onto the PTS and fight each other.

I imagine that will be more in the ZOS test cases. This is also to address player concerns, rather than general bug hunting. "will my class be still as viable" "how much DPS can I do with this" things like that.

Definitely. I know the first thing I will test is if my Sorc is back to being viable in PvE for things besides Negating.

The utility of negate should still be there, but what are your requirements to be "useful" in PVE? Does it have to be better DPS than everyone else or are you shooting for a general number?

I am just speaking of general class skills. Most of the Sorcs skills really aren't that useful and if compared to other classes I'd say Sorc is the class that needs to rely on other skill lines to fill up the action bars. Definitely does not need to be better DPS than everyone else nor am I shooting for a general number. Just stating that overall Sorcs class skills need some adjustments.

Sure thing, I have a few builds that max out things like weapon damage, spell damage, etc. Some of the resistances mat be hard to check until we see the heavy armor changes. Any specific build or class to check?

What i want to see from testers:
    1. How will change combination of quick siphon/siphon spirit+jabs (will it still proc 4 health and 2 mana proc per cast and mana proc not working for multple hitted targets)
    2. templar's all skills' morphs including morphs for new passive/active skills
    3. Does reducing cost glyphs still will have reduced effect on spells coz light armor reducing spell cost passive (Evocation).
    4. Will craftable and droppable sets will have old bonuses
    5. New Alliance War abilities in action
    6. How new system of buffs works by casting many defensive skills
    7. Ultimate gaining process
    8. Possible changing of templar's Honor the Dead and will mana return will be stackable
    9. Dual wield changes
    10. Resto-staff changes
    11. Show us how new cc cap will work with new dd aoe cap (via dk's talons)
    12. Changes in healing cap
    13. How templar's Eclipse and defensive posture will work in 1.6, will it be able to reflect non-magical projectiles or close combat spells
    14. Does templar's charge will still have rudiculous cooldown
    15. Guild line changes
    16. templar's jabs and aoe skills possibility to proc Evil Hunter
    17. stacking of dodge abilities (hist bark+elude medium armor)
