Yeah the console form factor does enable more convenient or less effort play. Since my family and I are all PC savvy and have monstrous builds we don't mind tinkering to get it right on the PC when the overall gameplay experience is better on PC. So PC preferred then console if not available and/or not best on PC.

So an out of the box xbox1/xbox360 controller can pair with PC? Interesting....I might have to experiment with this.

Not by itself, the wireless controller I had required a wireless receiver

    http://www.ebay.com/bhp/xbox-360-wireless-receiver

or an (un)official play & charge kit will do the trick also, from Trust etc. it comes pretty cheap with a decent battery and cable to plug into your PC.

    @Faugaun‌

    There is also bundle version
    microsoft_xbox_360_wireless_controller_for_windows_black_.jpg

Pad with receiver i have 2 of them and works perfect. You might only get better battery's and charger for them. Sanyo eneloop are very good choice imho.

Or just get accumulator designer for x360 pads i think something like this exist.

OP you left out one important one for consoles though. The "sitting on the couch factor".

With a controller you can do this, with mouse and keyboard, not so much. I am sure most console players probably have the vision of PC'ers sitting at a desk, staring at a 20" monitor and they are not wrong in most cases.

However I vote PC. Mods are far, far more robust than consoles, I have had few problems with games not playing, and truthfully have had just as many console games bug out (the difference being on a PC I can Google the problem and look for a fix, whereas on consoles you are stuck with it until a patch. The same "unhackability" consoles enjoy to prevent hacking also prevent this kind of player initiated fixing.)

I also like to upgrade my PC every couple of years, which is so easy that about an hour of self learning is enough to figure out how to replace the whole thing piece by piece if you desire.

    'bout it.

I'm on the couch on my laptop....used to be on the couch with a wireless keyboard and mouse with a projected 10' diagonal 1080p ...but it was too big. So now it is just the laptop on the recliner.
And I'm on my Queensized bed with a 40 Inch LCD TV on my PC, my keybored does not need a hard surface to sit on and I just have a wooden pad to put my mouse on.

tell me 1 thing a console do that a gaming PC can't.

    Legend of Zelda. ( emulators don't count ;P )

It can run all games available for that system without the need for upgrading (video card, etc)!

Also, before games had to be installed on consoles, they could have you playing the game within seconds.

Can you get four people playing at the same time on your gaming PC? I mean, four people in the same room using the same screen? Probably, but still. You know what I'm trying to say!

Seems to me that consoles are sounding more and more like PC's, though. Not sure why... to me, a console should be simple: turn on, put game in, and play. All this installing, downloading, internet required stuff really makes me doubt I'll ever buy a console again.

Ya, you're asking a bunch of people who already play on PC if they will switch to a different platform....the results, were predictable.

No...I'm asking ESO fans which system they will be playing on. An Elder Scrolls fan that wants to play the newest ES game can only play it on PC....so they might vote XBOX One or PS4 because they know that they will switch once they have options.

Be reasonable here though, and this is coming from someone that voted for Xbox One cause I hate Keyboard and Mouse, it would be safe to say that over 90% of the people playing TESO at the moment are PC players who have always been and will be. The only reason I came back to PC was because I heard of the loyalty rewards and the ONLY reason I even got the game for PC in the first place was because when i signed up you would qualify to transfer your toons over. How many people would really do the same thing I have done if not for completionists/rub my loyalty rewards in your face people (which I am both)? So yes I agree that this poll is very predictable. Unfortunately, there really wouldn't be a reason to get too involved with a game that is not out for your console and has been pushed back several times already except for checking to see if it gets pushed back again in June.

What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

I'd play ESO on a console like a Wii-U if i could play by swishing around a plastic sword

Multiple-systems. Obviously I play on PC, however I have a large group of friends who will be playing it on XB1 and a few that will be playing it on PS4... but as I prefer XB1 over PS4 for multi-player games (XBL, and even the controller are more to my liking), I will probably be picking it up for XB1 as well.

    PC.

I can upgrade it myself, I can repair it myself, I can run other programs alongside the game (dual monitors). Chatting with other players is much easier and more intuitive on a computer. I can adjust/tweak settings directly in the user settings text file, giving me more control.

Those are a few of my reasons.
Console has built in party chat. PS4 even has a actual party chat over 4 people as well. You can group with random people you meet and instantly talk. The built in voice chat makes ESO superior on console already and it has not even launched yet. ES will always be a console game in its purist form. Now I would play PC before I ever touch a Xbox. Microsoft screams inferior in the console department. So many issues with their consoles dying.

I too own a decent gaming PC, but I generally prefer the PS4. It's less of a headache. And at 1080p at least, I can't tell much difference in the graphics. So maybe I get 50 fps on the PS4 instead of 60 fps on the PC--whoopty do. Everything is so much simpler and faster on the console. No xpadder profiles, no mouse, no having to go across the room to turn on my PC (yes, I'm that lazy)--just push a button on my controller and play.

And I play with a controller on the PC anyway, because I generally prefer it over keyboard/mouse. I only use my keyboard in ESO for chat. And with built in voice chat on the PS4, and an optional keypad if necessary, I don't think that will be an issue.

I will miss mods. But I only use 3 of them in ESO (Lootdrop, Slightly Improved Experience Bar, and Research Assistant). And I understand that lootdrop will be built into the console UI. I can live without the experience bar, but I will really miss Research Assistant. At least I won't have to deal with the hassle of having to constantly upgrade my add-ons (even though Minion helps) and hoping that whoever maintains them has kept them updated to support latest version of ESO.

PC, then XB1... I would never consider this game for PS4 thanks to the controller and unreliable Online.

PC all the way for a game like this, especially with mouselook for targeting (always hated FPS on consoles, so inaccurate).

    Also, addons!

    PC forever and ever.

I spent my childhood with PSX, playing all the GTA's, the crash bandicoots (First I played was 2, then 3, then i bought a platinum 1, then CTR :-)), hell I even played Duke Nukem 3D, Land of The Babes and Time to Kill, Gran Turismo 2 is to date my fav racing game, and I haven't found any racing game that comes even CLOSE to that :-)

edit: oh wait I had an Atari 2600 prior to that, then the PSX.

Anyone remembers the "pirate" trick with swaping the original disk with burned one, then original, then burned to boot ? It was a hoot, first thing i learned before i got the beast chipped :-)

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IW3cFEOLNWA

About a year ago I bought an X360 just for GTA V. Finished it, got disgusted with the graphics and framedrops all around, and the console constantly overheating while playing, even the power brick started making sounds, and sold the game. I kept the XBox only for Kinect Sports and such. And even now I play on an xbox probably once or twice a year (be it new year's or a party ). But i use the controller with PC. It is THE BEST controller you can have (given it was bundled with the console and the wireless receiver cost almost nothing).

So, yeah, I grew up with a console, but I never went back since PC's could handle graphics and got AAA games :) The dawning of my console gaming era is marked with Black & White 1.

PC, then XB1... I would never consider this game for PS4 thanks to the controller and unreliable Online. I disagree and Xbox will have the least ESO support do to having less players. Wont be a big difference on support but it is there.
