error codes & estimated download time?

I'm slowly falling further away from playing eso and quickly wasting time I have that I want to invest in playing blah blah anyways mid yesterday I suddenly got booted out with an error code 301 and I did the procedures from the error codes page with no luck so now I'm back waiting for the game to install again wish I didn't want it to come to this because installing it the first time around I was only netting an average 50 kb/s which is days of downloading if you do the math I'm just wondering did anybody else get poor download speeds? Its not my ISP could it be the network gateway is just not on track or its jammed from traffic? And or not the host servers that are the problem here? I'm at 6% completion and Its been about 7 hours or more I'm frustrated...one minute (well most minutes) it's at 50 ish kb/s the next it will jump up in spurts to the mid hundreds then for a short duration at 700 ish kb/s why? My anti virus and fire walls are off btw I found a virus and detected for doing that and came to assuming that's what was giving me error codes 301, 315 and 500 I think it was 301 mostly but as soon as I logged in again it would let me in to characater selection screen then once I hit start it would "most times" be a never ending load process to nowhere and then it would kick me out and say please try again minutes later only would I get the error codes upon trying to log back in I had a 200 something error code a couple times too like I'm playing process of elimination games which is coming to be finding a needle in a haystack sigh...

So error codes and download speed concern's, I'd like to hear your thoughts, thanks

We do have a few suggestions that can help with your download speeds. We'll go ahead and post them in a spoiler tag since the article is pretty long. We know you've already run a few of the steps in the article, but we'd like to ensure that the entirety of the article is available for anyone who may be experiencing the same issue.

If the download and installation process is running slow, there are several temporary solutions:

First, players should try temporarily disabling the firewall and anti-virus. Default Windows firewalls will come on automatically after others are disabled, so keep in mind that the Windows firewall may need to be disabled, too. Always remember to turn them on again after the download completes.

Players can also try opening the following ports on their router:
•TCP / UDP Ports 24100 through 24131
•TCP / UDP Ports 24300 through 24331
•TCP / UDP Ports 24500 through 24507

If that doesn't work, they can try bypassing the router and plugging the computer in directly to the internet source to improve download speeds.

Download speeds are also related to internet connection speed, which can act as a limiting factor. If the overall connection speed seems slow, players can verify it through a third party source like SpeedTest. This site, and many others, will calculate internet connection speed (higher numbers are better). If it turns out that the overall internet connection speed is slow, we recommend the players to contact their Internet Service Provider and have them troubleshoot the connection with them.

Last but not least, they can change the Maximum Download Speed of the launcher. Click on the gear icon in the top right-hand corner to open up the Launcher Settings, scroll down to the bottom of the menu, and look for the section titled Maximum Download Speed. Click on the drop-down menu and select 5MBps. This should help speed things up!

I was directed to this thread from my other forum post. I'm experiencing the same problem. I've turned of my Firewall, have no active antivirus and every other download i initiate is happily throtting down at 7,5mbyte a second. (The download speed is set to "unlimited" in the launcher aswell)

This means that if there's nothing wrong with your actual patch server, there is a congestion in your transit to Norway, possibly scandinavia?

Something has gone wack with their speeds in the past 1 1/2 months. Lots of players have complained. I have a clean 1Gbps/1Gbps fiber connection and now I get a whopping 6kB/s from them on patch day. I've been in contact with Level3 and they cannot find any issues from my home to their servers. I am guessing either the launcher is broken or they are throttling.

Why did you suggest choosing 5mb/s? There is 10mb/s as well wouldn't that be better?

I am wondering about the 5mb/s as well. I always keep mine on unlimited which was awesome until 1 1/2 months ago. Now on patch days, unlimited gets me 6kB/s!

I'm now at 22% I have literally tried everything from several resources last thing was flushing my dns cache still taking baby steps at high 50kb/s that gradually drops until it stops saying webgetrequest error usually at times I leave home base hoping I can return with progress in the download ofcoarse not the case this will never finish also any other game I download is reasonable speeds except this one what a waste of time !
