Latency Problem in Raids/Big Groups

Hello guys,

i've got some issues with my latency while raiding. My latency in this game is (according to ingame stats) around 50-80ms, while network manager says i have 20-30ms to the server. So far, there isnt any problem with my latency.

But when i move up for example Sanctum Ophidia with 12 ppl in group my latency grows over time up to near 200 while fighting the Serpent, which makes especially weapon swap rly laggy! After fight just standing around i have 160-180ms. Even when i move up to another area(for example lowcrowded Malabal Tor) my latency still stays on that level(160-180ms). While that my latency showed in my network manager says ~120ms.

So i feel a clear latency problem there.

I checked my ping to our Teamspeak Server all the time and it never was over 30ms.

I guess it's a problem coming with groups for me. I really don't have an idea how i could fix it because i dont know clearly what triggers the problem.

My mates in group checked there latency while fights and all same situations and they have normal pings around 50-80.

I hope someone can tell me how to fix this problem because with that latency i cant do good dps (which is needed for good times in SO). Actually im playing tank in our Raid, but im doing dps in some situations too....

I've been dealing with this for a while, as well. Except, for me, 80 ms is what I typically expect from MMOs on the west coast. For example, if I play WoW on an east coast server, I see 40-50 ms latency. West coast, 75-85. It's typical, and not really a problem. The only time you'll get significant delays is when you see 90-150. If you live in the US and you're connecting to a server on the opposite coast, you should only see 85. If it goes above 90, that's indicative of a problem. Performing tracerts and compiling data, I've been able to find that my connection actually pings the states my servers are hosted in much lower than the in-game latency is showing higher than it ought to be. I see a lot of misinformation being perpetuated by people saying that 150 is normal and even 250 is playable. This is not true, we're not in the 90s and we don't use dialup.

Some of us are more sensitive to these problems than others. When I have 90-100ms of latency, I can tell. The input will take a half second longer than it did the last time I pressed a key because the jump from 80-120 causes a delay. It chokes a bit because 90+ isn't a healthy ping. It SHOULD be 85 at most. The input delay, the fact one movement or input might take slightly longer than another... these things cause problems for people. The servers have always had problems. I just got d/c from a dungeon group and then when I tried to leave the dungeon, the load screen took 2 minutes. After going through the gauntlet of tests and determining I don't have packet loss, jitter or latency problems and my router isn't faulty, and the fact NO OTHER GAME has this problem that I play... that only leaves ESO. When I posted about this a couple weeks ago, a mod came back with the typical script trying to see if it was a problem on my end even though I've eliminated the notion that it could be me. This has been going on for a loooong time and it's way overdue for a fix. All the people I've asked in my last guild said they sit over 120. When I asked, I was at 120... Not a coincidence.

Now, having said that, you said your network is at 120? That's not good either. Your network latency should not be that high.

Pingtest says 22ms(jitter 2) ;) My network is at 120 to eso.exe from my side.... while that my ping to all other things is still good. By the way, im living in Germany and i play on the EU Server. I live near to Frankfurt(where the server stands). But the European Megaserver is rly bad... ;D
And the ping gets worse over time reaching it's maximum in the end at the last boss. On the first one i have around 110ms.

Today i received more problems with the connection. While playing in Sanctum i had a disconnect for a second, all was standing, then all went along and seem to be ok. Then again the same but this time didnt end. So disconnect.
Running back to my group after relogging i then got kicked into the loading screen while running normally. Just directly without any crash report or sth. Then i cant log in again. Endless loging in->Login attempt failed. After alt+f4 it worked to log in again. But this throwing into the loading screen and disconnecting was 3x while raiding. Pretty hard problem because now i rly block my raid!
So Zenimax Team. Your help would be a pleasure for me:)

While this happened i didnt disconnect in Teamspeak or somewhere else.
