I've taken my laptop into a computer repair shop. In that diagnostic they said everything was fine and I should be able to easily run the game. I am almost finished with a re-install now. It has been 11 days trying to fix this.

Well the re-install didn't work again... I plan on taking my computer back to the shop, that seems to be my only option

Sorry to hear that. When you do go back to the shop, ask them on what basis they advised, assuming it's an accurate quote, that your computer "should be able to easily run the game"? Are they directly familiar with the recommended specs of the game? Have they played it? I doubt it.

It does honestly sound as if you've exhausted all software options, the shop has confirmed that there are no faults with the hardware, so all that's left is the compatibility of the computer with the game. Fair enough that you have played it previously, but on what settings? Hasn't it been established that it doesn't meet the recommended specs? Forget the minimum specs, sadly that's always a marketing ploy, it's the recommended specs you need to meet or preferably exceed, especially for MMOs whose technical goalposts are always moving with every patch. An upgrade/replacement (preferably desktop) sounds like the most probable solution for you.

What news from your ticket with ZOS?

They responded fairly slowly. The shop checked the specs online, determined that my machine should be able to easily run it on at least minimum settings.

I could start and run the game on Ultra settings when I last played, although there was a bit of lag. The response just contained more solutions that did not work.

Well that would certainly suggest (a) that your computer is up to running the game, and (b) that there's some kind of hiccup currently at your end, be it software, hardware, or internet connection. I can't think there was anything recently patched in the game that would turn an ultra-performance into a non-performance, if there had been then we'd all be up in arms!

I assume you're running it at home, and not in some school or other network?

Yes at home. I have also ran my computer on a different connection with the same result.

So I am sure you have heard a lot of advise, but I had to uninstall, then run CCleaner from piriform.com (free). I used the regular cleaner and then the register clean to eliminate all unused files or "damaged" files. This was a ways back, cannot remember if before 5 or not. But I got back in and have been doing fine since. Good luck.

I have ran registry cleaners both times I re-installed.

Figured, but had to toss it out there. Have you tried resetting your computer to a date that the game did work?

That was 2 months ago... so no I haven't tried that. I guess I could check.

Sorry, just trying to be helpful. Got to suck not being able to get into the game. If I remember correctly, when you first bring up part of the game, with the "play" button, isn't there something up there that allows you to fix the launcher? Not at home to check.......dang you work people blocking access to gaming while I am suppose to be at work.

Other choice is always the hammer. Works for everything else.

I also know that I had to turn off auto updates from Windows since I "assumed" one of their downloads screwed up my game the last time. I cannot call this fact, but maybe......I mean, Windows never screw anything up either, right?

2 months a lot goes onto a PC. Any new programs, new anti virus, etc? Just asking. I tried to go look for the other posts so I wasn't rehashing advice.

I'm not sure man. I have tried so many solutions already, I can barely keep up. It has been 11 days now trying to figure this out. Probably 24 hours of troubleshooting, not to mention the 24 hours of download time.

So I just talked to a friend of mine who had a similar issue. However, the bad news is that he actually had to change his CPU to get the game to work.

GHZ is your processor's SPEED, this does not mean when your cpu is at 90% you are only using 90% of it's speed. You are using 90% of it's process handling resources.

and @Arinator, I believe you need to uninstall via the options available on the launcher rather than uninstalling from 'programs and features' in Windows.

After uninstalling I would also run a Registry Cleaner.

No, you're handling the exact same amount as a 1.5GHZ but your running about .9 GHZ faster to handle it. Someone more proficient in math than I am can probably give you a percentage of how many more processes you are handling in the same amount of time.....

Okay - you are missing that I was blown away by the northern lights in skyrim and in commemoration my nord dyed the trim on her armor that not-quite-flourescent-pistacio-ice-cream green. Doesn't actually look as horrible as it sounds.
