Gary responded to my first post and moved it over to customer support. It was a month of not playing so plenty could have changed I suppose. But I have tried many solutions and nothing...

I have seen your threads over the last few days and there is one point I was wondering about...

The fact your CPU is below the recommended minimum......

You stated that before update 5 your system ran the game fine and that you doubted that things had changed to the point that your CPU was a problem.....

I run a really, really old system(with a big CPU) and recently, I can't remember exactly when I had to reduce my settings from Med/High to Low/Med and turn off some of the other ones such as grass etc......

Have you tried lowering everything to minimum?

I run adwcleaner to get rid of all junk, spam and viruses. Try that and maybe see if it helps. Also clean your PC. Make sure it's free of dust and dirt or at least track your temps. And check memory usage to make sure it's not a memory leak.

I know I'm late to the party but I have checked your other threads.....

When you uninstall you do run a registry cleaner of some sort.......

ESO is well known for leaving behind the broken nasties on your PC.

I checked adwcleaner and yes I ran the auslogic registry cleaner before re-install lastnight.

Also ESO has to be uninstalled from the launcher NOT from your program files......

Copy and paste from and old thread......

First, you need to uninstall the game before you uninstall the launcher, otherwise even when you manage to get rid of it in Uninstall Programs the entire game tree will still be there.

To do that, click the small cog-wheel icon on the same line in the Launcher as the game name .. NOT the larger cog-wheel top right of the window .. then select Uninstall from the menu which also includes the Repair option.

I am still looking but not finding atm.......

I have found threads saying just to uninstall from programs list but those are in general for people just wanting rid of the game......

However Update 5 does seem to have caused quite a few issues.....

Open up task manager and try to close out anything you aren't using when you try to play? Not just applications but Processes also?

I have done this many a time to get rid of lag and freezes.........

Turn off every process......

If your PC crashes you needed that one!!

Support suggested a clean boot. Which I did, its essentially the same thing you just suggested. I'm not sure what to do anymore

When exactly does it freeze? How long do you wait before restarting? Sometimes if you just let it go it will load but it takes a while.

The load screen immediately following login. I never get to character select. Sound, pointing device, everything locks up and I have to do a hard reset on my computer.

I really think this may be related to your CPU, it is below minimum requirements and the game definitely uses more resources than it used to......

I have a quad core 2.4GHZ processor on a very old system and I constantly have to adjust my settings but my issue is probably more on my graphics card......

ZOS cite the absolute minimum needed to be a 2GHZ dual core......

So as @ers101284b14_ESO says trim every process you can and immediately you launch the game shut down the launcher.....

Literally run nothing BUT the game.

Its not the infinite load screen. My entire system shuts down.

Did you try shutting down all process that you can?

Launch the game in windowed mode and pull up your task manager to check your CPU and memory usage..........

When I say launch the game get to the login screen with the task manager up and see what happens to your resources when you try to log-in.

CPU usage peaked at 67% when I opened the launcher. It never got above 50% after that and froze at 30%
