I've posted before on Solar Flare, and my response was basically, "Dots don't receive buffs".
I think pointed out this difference but never received a reply, from the post or the messages I've sent.
SunFire receives the buff on the upfront damage, even though it's a dot. Now, I LIKE THIS, because now there's two aoe Templar abilities that receive the buff, Explosive Charge, and Reflected Light.
However, I noticed that Fire Rune and Spear Shards do not receive the buff.
Spear Shards is a fun utility ability that, if buffed, could be a viable alternative for a caster.
Fire Rune can give a "synergistic" effect in that, as a Mages Guild ability with the passive, can buff the next cast. So you could in theory alternate the two as a good alternative to Pulsar (yay choices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

).
Now, both are ground targeted, which is different from SunFire/ExplosiveCharge, so maybe that's the reason. However, being interrupts cannot be the reason because ExplosiveCharge is an interrupt. ExplosiveCharge is situational however. So, as you can see, I don't have a clear reason to exclude Fire Rune and Spear Shards.
Can I get clarification on whether these are bugs?
I really want a good reason to use Solar Flare other than SunFire which is subpar for aoe.
