Motif Drop Rates

    I've only ever found one Imperial. Of course it was my Imperial character who found it (container in the Rosy Lion in Daggerfall). I've never found purple, but my characters are only up to about 12-30 level.
    Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
    Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
    Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
    Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.

    Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
    House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
    Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

    I've been doing this and only until last week did I finally loot some motifs after a 4+ month drought of no motifs thanks to Wayrest [VR]. I literally check all containers I see.

    At this point all I need to do is to loot Ancient Elf again (first one I found I gave to a friend), somehow dream about looting anything Dwarven, and eventually find Imperial (I have the CE, but I like completing achievements :P ).

    Guess I'm just unlucky though overall with drop rates... :/

    They spam visit the right locations. Wayrest is one of them with a high volume of furniture in the Bank and Castle.

    I always check containers that I come across, and they are always either empty or have cooking mats. The Palace in Wayrest a week ago was the first I ever saw a motif drop since this past Summer.......

    Dwemer is a little different from the other motifs. The pages have a higher drop rate than the VR motif books, because you have to collect a whole ton of pages before you've learned the full Dwemer motif.

    The drop rates seem friendly to me. I just got my second Imperial motif this weekend. While farming for Dwemer scraps, I'm past my second full set of motifs. I have not seen the full Dwemer book yet. I tend to pull one or two purple food recipes a week. I don't really track the blue ones an more. If it I a container, I open it!

    So...tried to look for Ancient Elf again today...the first attempt / container I opened resulted in another Daedric...my "luck" lol.

    I have come to the conclusion that Ancient Elf drop rate has been decreased and Daedric increased at a higher rate...

    Doesn't help that most zones are devoid of players to try to trade, etc. lol.
