Launcher Update?

Just started my launcher and it said "Updating" and all the news info, icons etc were gone. That finished and the launcher finally showed news etc but now my launcher looks different. Did we get some kind of update?

I have attached pics of old launcher and new launcher. There is something now called Realm Status on the launcher?

Thanks! Just wanted to make sure my game had not been taken over by Daedra or pesky trolls. :)

Just a tiny little thing, when you select "patch notes", you are sent to a landing page (link) that states "The Patch Notes section has moved. Please use the following link to access all the latest official ESO news and patch notes:

    Oops?

@ZOS_GinaBruno, I have found a bug with the new launcher. I had opened the launcher twice since the update today, closing it after every game launch. I went to my task bar to set up a program to show notifications and found that even though my game is closed and the so is the launcher, every instance of the launcher is still showing on the task bar notification. I can click each one and it will go away but it will keep filling up this area as long as I open and close the launcher. I've tested it three times now. The launcher is NOT showing in the active processes. Just the icon seems to be getting stuck in the notification area for every instance you run the launcher. I am running Windows 7 Ultimate if that matters.

This is Windows. It has been doing this for years.

(Windows caches the notification icons and can keep them around until you mouse over them)

The bigger question is why they feel the need to put something in the notification area in the first place.

Yeah Windows has done this for a while but just mousing over it doesn't remove the icon. I have to click each one once to make it go away. The previous version of the launcher didn't do this so it is something new.

I get one for each time I start the launcher but they go away when I mouse over them. Honestly, I never paid attention to the notification icon before the update and I have updated all of my systems so I have nothing to compare to. (Ok, one was not yet updated, but it wants to update immediately and no way I am going to interrupt it... nope... not a chance)

The notification is "Launcher" so my comment stands: Why?
