Is that it? (Update 6)

So, I am probably going to get blasted out for saying this, but is that all that is coming in Update 6? Just the Justice System and Champion System? I know ZOS has said that this is going to be a huge update, and I recall hearing it was supposed to be worth 2 updates, but it doesn't sound like all the much in the grand scheme of things. Like yea sure, Justice System and Champion System are two things that the community really really wants, but they aren't like big on content, they don't bring anything GIGANTIC to the table, just side activities from the initial hearing of it.

Now, what I am hoping for, is that there is more to it than what they said. For instance, maybe they are also putting in another vet dungeon, or the dark brotherhood and thieves guild are in this update as well, or some zone/questline/content addition that they haven't announced. That is what I am hoping for, because from the way they have been saying this is a big update, sure its possible because a lot of internal systems are involved, but from a non-internal, outside perspective, it doesn't seem like a huge content, major important things to do, type of update.

Don't take this as me sounding ungrateful, I am really excited about this update and can't want for it to hit the PTS, but I am just hoping there are some hidden, unannounced things that weren't in the Road Ahead that are also included in this update.

I've said it already, I'm gonna say it again.

Champion System is something that is probably going to add thousand hours of playtime for the casual gamers. It's a much bigger content than if they would a new zone. I consider just the Champion System worth more than 2 updates.

There won't be Thieves and Dark Brotherhood guild in update 6. It was already confirmed. However it is likely that they will hit the live servers before 1 year anniversary.

Provisioning Overhaul, improvements to fishing, changes to combat and abilities, more abilities, and a new UI for vanity items is coming aswell. The update is big but honestly it doesn't warrant no new PvP content like Imperial City. They could easily fit it in, with Spellcrafting in the next patch.

Sadly is the CS worthless without a new content patch that adds an environment where players can do quests to gain the necessary XP.

As it stands right now, a player who finished Cadwells has no other way than grinding mobs or dungeons for XP to raise his or her Champion Level.

Even the biggest hardcore nerd will be tired of that very fast.

Are you kidding me? REALLY?! "thats it"?!

Do you even realize that massive scale champion and justice system alone take up? ZoS is literally going back and changing nearly every possible thing in the game, and thats not enough for you?

Champion system completely changes combat, it goes back into character progression and pretty much re-writes the entire thing, thats not enough for you?

Justice system goes through almost every interact-able object in the game and changes its drop table, it changes and adds dialogue for almost every NPC in the game, and you say "is that it?"

Not to mention the new provisioning revamp, armor changes, new abilities, and combat animation enactments.

There is 46 pages of patch notes, 46 pages and you want more?

Didn't see the patch notes are up. And again, I didn't mean to sound ungrateful, I was just hoping for a little more time spending content, this is largely a quality of life + side activity patch, and I am very grateful for it, I would just also like a non-side activity thing.

For instance, yes, the justice system is HUGE, its a great quality of life thing, people have been asking for it, its a fan favorite, etc. But, as it seems right now, its large a side activity, there is no real solid story line attached to it, methods obtaining the big shiny loots of epicnoobpwningness, or any end-game or mid game, etc. In its "current state", its largely just a side activity/roleplay/quality of life (depending on if your a player or NPC) improvement. Yes, I am going to enjoy the absolute heck out of it, and but its not... core I guess is the word, but not extremely.

There will be plenty of bug-fixes in the patch, so plenty of things for players to look at and claim aren't fixed. There will be plenty of new bugs introduced, so hundreds of hours of writing bug reports. There will be plenty of new balance issues, so days of writing feedback reports.

Seems to me there will be plenty new in the game...

OP has a point. I don't see the Champion System as new "content": there are no new maps, no new locations, no new quests, no new things to do. It's mostly incentive for players to stay on ESO, working towards acquiring more champion points in order to boost their characters. This is a good thing of course, but it's very different from a new dungeon or the Imperial City.

The Justice system is new content but it doesn't appear huge at the moment, especially with the PVP part left out for a later date. I don't really intend to go berserk on chickens or on the citizens of Wayrest and I'm not particularly eager for those changes, even though it's always nice to have more options to interact with the world.

The part of Update 6 that I'm looking forward to is class balance and I'd love to hear about it soon. I hope the next ESO Live covers the major changes that we can expect.

I'd love to hear about crafting too but I won't hold my breath. :|

If you know anything about ZOS, you know that the players are usually the last to know if anything changes in the game. The only reason I think they told us what they did is because Update 6 is delayed by 6 to 8 weeks.

Not that I am complaining about whatever scraps of information they give us, but to think that they would tell us everything that is in Update 6 a month before it gets put on PTS is simply crazy talk.

Edit: We won't know the full content of Update 6 until after the maintenance has started to install it on Live. That may be in February.

I agree with OP here too. Update 6 looks more like a reworking of current content but doesn't really add anything new. Thats not to say it's not a good update because, frankly, these changes have been a long time coming. But it's really looking like the next actual new content update won't be live until late Feb or March.
For all the players that aren't happy with the current state of the game, now is a good time to take a few months off and wait and see how things actually pan out. Let the players enjoying the game beta test the updates until the content you want arrives. There are heaps of other great games out there to keep you occupied until then.

Lots of guild are losing members as there is nothing new coming out in game for a while (areas\dungeons) (at least 2-3 months before we see an new area)

At the moment the veteran system did not turn out the way they want and they are replacing it with the champion system, but they are doing its over 4 stages. But most player I know just want new areas to play in not new ways to do the current areas.

Patch 1.6 = Champion points to spend and NPC attacking\stealing but no new areas. The champion system will not be fully in place until patch 1.7 when the level cap goes back down to 50

Except for Craglorn (which was half done before release of this game anyway) there has been no new areas (veteran dungeons is not a new area, its an old areas with a new way of playing).

Still, I like the game, but the amount of time I spend in this game is less and less and based on what patch 1.6 has and the time frames for new zones.... I think its time for a sub break and come back in a few months when there are new zones and new things to do.

I don't want them to hurry new zones, as most patches to FIX things has more bugs then they fix. So I want them to take their time and get it right, but I will just be playing something else while they do.

Think what they probably mean by it being as large as two updates is that it will take us 20+ gigs of download to pull in.

Even if it does not seem like much, they are changing all the itemization in cities and the functionality of crates for the Justice System, so we will probably have to download all the redesigned systems in their entirety.

I'll reserve judgment until I actually see what gets released, but it sounds like this update will bring huge (hopefully positive) changes to the mechanics of the game but not much new content in the way of locations. What kinds of new quests and activities are coming for the new mechanics remains to be seen but I hope some substantial activities are added so this game doesn't turn into a champion point grind.

Wouldn't have been a whole mess if they didn't fire every competent dev after launch...

From the looks of the last updates, the people working on the game right now are not the ones that wrote the original game code... and it shows...

    Edit:

Also, it would have been LESS of a mess, because the whole thing with VP to XP was the huge nerf to leveling speed because they ****** up the XP gain VS needed.

If they had just switch to Champion system, the XP nerf thing would not have really mattered because everyone would have been 50 and able to participate in all content.

The problem was that people COULD NOT level to VR14 and actually do stuff without grinding/questing for dozens/hundreds of hours. That would not have happened switching immediatly to champion system lol...
