Hot patching?

I was just playing and my owner wanted me to do something for her so I dropped out for a few minutes.
When I came back and logged in ... it said I was trying to use an outdated client ( or something along that line ) and then kicked me out the the launcher whereupon it downloaded a smallish patch ( apparently ) and then I was able to log in again.
I had downloaded the Monday morning patch yesterday so it wasn't the weekly update.
Have they actually figured out how to do hot patching without shutting everything down for hours like they do on Mondays?

✭✭✭Lucky, I had to run repair in order to get the patch or whatever it was-.- Told me I was using an outdated client but the launcher refused to update even after closing and reopening several times. Repair seems to have helped...now to get past that eternal loading screen.
Also, this seems to have been around for a while, I've had "you're using an outdated client" with following (small) patch download while the servers were up quite a few times.0 -
Arizona_Willie✭✭✭Well this " patch " needs to be undone. Since the " patch " every time I go into the Guild Store IT CRASHES AND A TROUBLE TICKET POPS UP.
Don't know if anything else is hosed but Guild Stores certainly are --- for me.

What addons are you running? Souschef was the culprit for many of us (affected by Monday's patch, not today's hotfix).

Here are a couple of quick things to try that have helped out other players:- Exit the game and head to your AddOns folder. Grab the entire AddOns folder and move it to your desktop. This will remove the add-ons from the game, but preserve them for your use. Log in and see if the issue persists
- If so, an age-old repair has helped some people as well. Close the game, open the launcher, and click on Game Options above the news articles. Select Repair from the drop down and let it run.
If neither of those options help, let us know!

Belhawk1✭✭i ran repair to do the new patch, but not sure how much it helped. Started out fine, but when i came back to check on the DL, it was back down around 5500 mb and the DL speed was back down to 200 - 280 kB/sec.0
