Option to hide bank contents when crafting

Is there a way to hide the items that are in my bank when I am deconstructing/improving/researching? I'd like this feature available especially because I am leveling an alt and the low level items are getting mixed in with everything else. I would like this option for the sake of convenience so I don't have to second guess everything I am deconstructing or researching.

Best thing is to get an addon like Research Assistant, that will tell you if the item has a trait you need to learn (as I am assuming you want to keep those)

As for deconstructing, you want to deconstruct the highest level items anyway as that gives you the most experience. 50 or so VR1 items will get your crafter to L12 in their crafting, and you would have to make hundreds of items to gain the same inspiration (crafting experience)

You are also not going to get anywhere with a crafter if you have say two wood workers or two blacksmithers. So you really want to craft/deconstruct all wood items on one alt, all clothing items on another etc etc. I have one who is a Blacksmither, one who is a Woodworker/Clothing and one who is an Enchanter. You also don't want to even try to make one character a crafter in all lines, you won't have the skill points for that until way past L50.

Finally, the best way to hide items from a crafter when deconstructing is to roll a storage mule and have them hold them items until you need them later. If your crafting, your going to need storage mules anyway.

Thanks for the addon info, I'll look into item saver. I already have research assistant.

@nestor I appreciate the info but I don't think you got what I was trying to say. I know all about mules and how to level crafting etc. What I was trying to explain was simply a way for my crafting display to hide all the items in my bank (maybe leaving basic mats and improvement mats). This way I can simply see all the items that my alt has collected or holds without mixing them up with something another character collected and then put into the bank. I understand the advantages of having access to the shared bank from an alt, but sometimes I would prefer to only have access to improvement mats and basic materials. I should not have to role a mule in order to hide items in their inventory. Just a simple check box that says "hide all banked items except materials".

There might be a filter add on that does that. Look in the crafting or banks and bags section of ESOUI. It might not even be that hard to cook up one of your own.

Now, if you look closely at the tool tip, there is a symbol for Bank and a Symbol for a bag, the bag is what you are carrying, the bank for the what's in the bank, that can help to keep things straight without an addon.

In fact, because of that icon that is already in the game, then there is probably an add on that will hide your banked items. It would be easy to make I would imagine.

I agree with the OP. i have a few bits of armour and weapons in my bank, every time i go to deconstruct stuff i almost always give my self a heart attack by selecting one of my stored items. I would like a way for any item in my bank that i have saved to be hidden from the deconstruction menu.

@nestor Again, thanks for the info. I know about the little icon, it comes in handy when I am depositing things into the bank.

I don't know much about making addons, but I probably could get into it pretty easily since I have a programming/computer background. I just don't want to reinvent the wheel, so I asked.

Would also like a tick box to show or hide bank items vs. inventory while using the craft tables. You didn't listen to my earlier suggestion, Z! Think about it

I put all crafts on my sorc since I don't like playing the sorc anyway. That way all my purple motifs go to one character and do not get split up among many characters or require I have to find more than one of any given motif .

I have one crafter for everything except enchanting (he's working on it). He's level 36 and I plan to get him to VR1 eventually. 5 provisioning skills, with all the passives (except keen-eye), about 80+ skill points in crafting.

Yea, i was hoping this would've been implemented by now. All they need (should have) is a checkbox in the deconstruction window to hide items from your bank. Then I wouldn't need to worry about trashing items on accident that I want to keep (not for traits specifically).

I deconned my v10 staff of dylora by accident while leveling woodworking on an alt and it took me a month to find a replacement .
That said i do not trust addons when it comes to banking, not after what happened to thousands of players losing their bank slots, gold and items. Time will tell if i am paranoid or not
Beesting, Bosmer Magica DK, AD EU, crafter
Slager, Dunmer Magica DK, DC EU, pvp
Farmer, Dunmer Magica DK, AD EU, trials build

Every major patch looks like the end of the world but somehow i just cannot stop playing.

I would like this option as well, every time I open research and it shows that healer set stored in my bank. However, I like that I don't need literally every material necessary on my person when creating.

Maybe a simple "lock" option per physical item(non- material) would solve both problems.
If options weren't necessary, and everyone played the same way, no one would use addons. Fix the UI!

Where are all the people defending this crappy ui now? I thought you guys like minimalist/featurless/frustrating ui. That is the impression I get when I read countless topics asking for ZoS to fix their UI and most answers are actually defending this piece of ***. Don't you like how immersive the ui is? Console version is going to be so bad if there is no addons available.

It's one thing to ask for UI fixes and adjustments, completely another to ask for things that shouldn't be displayed on the main screen.

In this particular case, a filter within the crafting UI makes perfect sense. A simpler solution would be to gray out items that are in the bank. So you can filter without even having a toggle.

Being able to decon things straight from the bank is a double edged sword. Back when I was leveling my crafters, I had one parked at a Set Crafting station. I would use another character for farming loot and drop all that stuff off at the bank. Then I could decon on the crafter in place.

But, as you say, the bank is not the place to store things you want to keep from deconning. That's why mules are needed to keep things safe. I have one mule that just stores armors that I use on new characters.

But the last thing I want to see is another "Are you sure" message that seems to be the solution that is offered like for our emails when we go to delete those.

Dude... what do you thin addon users have been are asking for all this time? Well I will tell you: EXACTLY THESE THINGS DISCUSSED IN THIS TOPIC.

Basic information and basic features which help you to actually enjoy gaming and not spend half your gaming time managing inventory. These are the fixes we mean when we say that the UI is the worst in MMO history. We mean exactly these things, disabling stupid trial notifications, marking items so you know which items you wan't to save for research or marking items you don't want to deconst or sell for some other reason. But no... Ui is fine and we don't need all that because we like "immersion" and immersion would break if I woudn't have to spend hours each day sorting my inventory

That would be solved with adequate bag space. But, having limited storage supposedly encourages player interaction. Not my words, ZOS's words.

I agree with OP, this is a good idea.

Just a simple UI setting "hide banked items" in the crafting window. Would be really helpful to toggle this off while deconstructing. Often times we have items stored in the bank that we're saving for research and it can be annoying to have to second guess and double check each thing while deconstructing.

Congratulations, Sir, you receive Diamond Shovel Reward for the Dig of the Century! This thread is almost 4 years old! You have been also nominated for the Troll of the Week for baiting and foul breath!

Especially since it was from before the craft bag and ESO Plus that the poster accused them of supporting....LOL
(Edit)Of course it "somehow escapes them" if such a thing didn't exist back then. I wonder if the necro-poster here is going to come back and check that and feel embarassed or just "hit and run" posted?
Even more so as ESO+ makes this problem far larger as you get double bank space while the materials don't take up slots anymore. Have over 200 set items in bank, yes locking solves lot of this and was not enabled back in 2014 I think.

Else on pc there are mods for it who is nice as you often want to deconstruct stuff you looted
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.
