@ZOS DK Talons are glitched. When players use them, they are 'invisible' and cause a permanent 'Immobilize' where the character is unable to move at all, and is left to just stand there and be destroyed.

Look like maintenance may have caused this?

Thank you all for the helpful replies to our follow-up questions. Our engineers and programmers greatly appreciate it.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom And now after 6 months are you going to give us some feedback from your Engineers and Programmers who have been working on all the issues raised?
As currently I don't think any of the PVP Player base actually believe there are any Engineers or Programmers working on Cyrodill!!!

Bro. Chill. This has already been said in almost every way possible in every part of the forums. Instead of yelling at these people, would it hurt for some encouragement? I seriously doubt the entire PvP section of the developers are just playing ping pong in their office day-in and day-out. Give them a break. :/

Yeah youre right, they do have a gym provided by ZOS, so maybe they are playing ping pong AND working out!

Please go back through this the offical forum post by developers, I like many do not waste my time watching fan art and to be frank cherry picked information on their twitch channel. If they have an update, they should also added to their own forum post to keep members of the Community updated.
Also it's now July and there is still no real improvement in Cyrodill

i dont get any lag in any part of the game, both on PC and console.

Seems like there is little to fix for me imo.

Buddy, you must be nuts, I experiance frame rate drops and sound bugs OUT THE BEHIND when ever there is a zerg.
Find a zerg in PVP, youll see what I mean.
On console that is, PS4 is the system I encountered these problems on.

It's strange certain abilities seem to work 100% of the time. Even in the worst lagstorm ever encountered (which is almost daily on Azura's btw) I can without a doubt cast Honor the Dead (jokes.. seriously, I meant Breath of Life). Other abilities I've noticed work flawlessly are both morphs of Rite of Passage, both morphs of Healing Ritual, etc... yet when I look at my Dawn's Wrath skill line the only spells I can cast are Eclipse and Backlash. Nova, radiant oppression, sun flare, etc.. just won't cast.

And while being around a zerg can certainly make life a lot worse I don't think for a second you can hide from lag by not being around a zerg. I've been in 5v5's in the middle of nowhere in Cyrodiil and if it's a bad night on Azura's the lagstorm will find you and it will bring you to your knees. Sometimes I wonder if Molag Bal plans to dominate our relm by using Lag as the ultimate weapon

remove the ability for rapid manoeuver to immune to cc. fights would be way more interesting and trains wouldn t be that much of a nuisance, lag wise. would be much better imo anyway

I'm not one for doom and gloom or the game is dying but imo the one thing that can kill this game is if these server ping issues aren't fixed and fixed fast. This is the largest complaint i hear among my guildies and their patience are running very thin at this point.

Can we have a server in Cyrodiil where we actually see NPC faction groups fighting? Throughout the entire PvE sections of the game, we hear about the war, but when we get there, only us, the players are actively fighting in Cyrodiil. Sure there may be NPC raids, influencing some of the PvE story, but include NPC groups and armies in Cyrodiil trying to capture a keep.

    NO PLEASE!
The game runs odd enough even without any NPCs stressing the servers.

I wonder when this idea of one huge megaserver for US and Europe will gone forever. Maybe with Cyrodiil being constantly depopulated due to performance issues and boring quests there with running in a vast and empty areas with almost none natural resources. I feel that would help having at least 3 separated servers for Europe, one for French speaking, one for German speaking and one for English speaking. Just like it is with SWTOR, having several separated servers different for pvp/pve or mixed, and not facing such major performance issues like here with ESO. Why not copying good solutions from others who already solved those issues you cannot so long?

So far the only reason I enter Cyrodiil are the shyshards located there and 2-3 skill points for beginners training. Any large random groups attacking other large groups make my PC almost burning, and my PC is still quite good (CPU i5, 8GB RAM, GTX660TI 2GB, with 15Mbit stable cable connection). The performance of pvp is so bad...

I've been trying to contact the dev team for months now with a technical solution which if not already implemented could reduce lag in Cyrodiil by a huge amount, but nobody wants to talk to me. Don't you care? I haven't recieved a single reply bar the reassuring "yeah we're listening" from the support team.

What works for Cyrodiil works everywhere, so if my ideas hold water, the (positive) impact on the game would be a huge bonus. Maybe I am cuckoo and my ideas are crock or you have already implemented them, but you won't know unless you talk to me, and I do have experience with this kind of thing.

I thought that inability to mount in Cyrodiil concerns just the short time after we quit the fight, but not the whole time from keep to keep. At least it works that way for me, I can mount in Cyrodiil after quitting fight and being far from enemy. Did not have such issue as yours so far.
Although sometimes I had in Cyrodiil an issue with this dying music stucked. When I died and ressurected the music was playing for all the time untill I reload the character, which didn't help even to enter a new battle, since this dying music was running in a loop. Fortunately I had this just a few times so far...

it is pretty common place for me to see latency in game. in any game to some degree. i always assumed its due to the fact that i am in australia and play on the NE server. there has always been some noticeable handicaps to this, visually i see things that must be .5 sec behind like arriving first at a chest only to be told someone else is using it who was clearly behind me at my end. theres plenty of occasions where my reflexes in PvP should suffice but still i end up getting the short end, i have not died so consistently in any PvP as i do in cyrodiil. sure enough the zerg train will always put me at a relative standstill lag wise when it steam rolls me (i thought breaking free would prevent me from being stun locked permanently), whereas i might have been able to gtfo like every other player. in nearly all cases 1v1, 1vX, PvP for me in Cyrodiil is a rather depressing affair. i know very well that i lack in skills in cyro pvp but i also equate that to every confrontation feeling like i have a huge handicap. how am i supposed to learn with concrete boots on?
animation-wise it can be painful at all times, i spam spells as a habit because half the time they dont trigger unless i hit them atleast twice to make sure. my toon will pause on some spells like streak every time, kinda negating the use of it, only worsening during lag spikes. i see players fly in and out of keep doors like they arent even there, whereas my toon seems to stop and think at every door. YES this results in death if im being chased to a door. spamming to get in sometimes results in me getting in then jumping back outside, a sec or 2 after pressing it.

lag spikes i see naturally above and beyond the general animation and latency issues im listing.
i am however glad to see that everyone experiences drag when switching weapons!!! this seems to worsen for me as time goes on and reloadingui seems to relive it for a while.
i have noticed that a minimap addon slows frames for me during pvp creating a kind of lag on lag off over 2 secs
as useful as minimap is at all times i have to turn it off.
i was thinking addons that are slowing weapon switching are due to addons related to gear or stats so i turn these off also but it doesnt really change what i see in the midst of battle.
yes, i turn down graphic settings, turn off all effects like grass, low shadows, view dist at 50. a few other tweaks here and there that have been suggested but its only marginal improvement and nothing really makes combat more fluid.

my frames are always in the white but latency mostly in the red, heavy combat i see 999+ but it spikes pretty erratically.
what frustrates me is that i can see how fun it is for other players but for me, i have to accept i am basically fodder.
i find myself casting spells ahead of what i see on the screen and hope the reactions play out before im squashed.
then i think about all the PvP rewards these others get sent to them, improving their gear, providing them with income etc.
i guess id like to know if us poor saps in asia/pacific might get a server set up near us and provide us with a chance to compete any time soon?

There are several types of lag. You may not experience all of them, but it is worth noting what they are:

General latency is based on your ping - not the ping being monitored within the game, but the absolute ping, which is the time it takes for a message to be sent by your machine and echoed back by the server. The ping monitored by the game client is different because it monitors the time it takes the server to process the ping, which is affected by the workload the server is experiencing.

There is also network saturation, which is usually occuring on your part of the network, and is caused by too much information flooding your broadband causing packet loss.

Your computer may not be able to cope with the amount of processing being demanded of it. Press Ctrl-Shift-Esc and observe the CPU utilisation - if it is over 80% you have issues.

More commonly is GPU overload, where the graphics processor/card is overwhelmed causing a huge drop in frame rates.

Everyones favourite, and the one they blame the most, is server-side lag. This is generally caused by too many events being processed by the server(s), causing events to be queued. If an event is queued, say for example an ability you just triggered, it will appear to be not firing until that event gets to the top of the queue and is processed. There are other issues that may cause server-side lag, such as other components on the server-side local network having issues, but generally the event queue is the most likely bottleneck.

When you have multiple types of lag, you are in real trouble. Opening windows task manager (if you are on Windows) allows you to observe CPU load and network load - remember that your network card can handle much more throughput than your internet connection, so you have to calculate what network load equates to your broadband/fibre maximum load to see if that is being flooded.

Server-side lag is the worst kind of course, because not only can you (the player) not do anything about it, but it affects everyone. Solving it is in principle, pretty straightforward, although technically it is a bit of a challenge. The payoff though is well worth the effort, since it results in much smoother gameplay and allows the number of events the server can handle per second to go through the roof - an increase of 15% to 80% depending on the event types - which also means you can raise the population cap. I've used the technique myself in games I have written, and I'd describe it here but frankly, I don't want every other game to use it. I'm more than happy to share with ZOS because I want this game to get better.

Well...Easter-Weekend Starts and I just wanted to know how it goes for my Alliance in Cyro...Fine, so i do some dailys for the X-tra Packages...everything is good...had some Ambushes...no problem...went into a delve for the Skyshard, and went out went in a group of 3 into Imperial Sewers and City and Out....smooth Gameplay. Then A friend asks, If I would like to join his Raid for Scroll, I accept the Invite, the Group Window Pops up and Smooth Gameplay says goodbye...
I tried it now several Times, even in midst of a battle:
When I Join a 20+ Group the Torture beginns, when i leave the same group, and port into another Area of Cyro, The Lag Issues are gone.

    Anyone Else experience this ?
