I'm getting Error 209 message. I have tried repairing it multiple times and nothing seems to work. I have restarted my computer multiple times and still have the same issue. I cannot do anything...

same here, every patch since update 5, so guess they cant do proper patches, anyway, so I have to do repairs, until it decides to work, oh and make sure you run the client as admin, that helped me atleast

Got this as well. After the repair, still had the same message. Fortunately, it seems to have cleared up (for me) after a reboot. Hope I can play now! :)

I'm in the same boat as the other posters here. Note that I do appear to be able to ignore the message, log in to the game and play.

EDIT: I've submitted game consultant file to support, ID 141117-000837.

i did what they said on the link provided but it still is giving me the error message, so after 2 repairs now i happened to get a "play" option and i took it.
im ingame and playing but, i sure hope this is ok. cause i have no intention of going through 16 hours of reinstalling eso.

    edit:
even tho i am playing ingame, i am still getting the error message on the launcher.

Got this message after updating today.

Said "*** it," closed the launcher, and opened my game client.

Game is running fine, and did not have to run a repair or anything.

Remember an issue similar to this around launch. At the time, trying to "repair" the client started my game downloading 60+ gigs of content.
As my monthly bandwidth has allowance caps, that was unacceptable to me. Closed the launcher and played the game fine back then.

    Works fine now, as well.

Glad this was an issue worth remembering, so that attempting to repair did not bugger up my game client.

Seems the problem is with the Launcher, if anything.

im glad you said that because i have zero intention of doing anything to fix the error message as it would cause me to be greefed of having to re-install eso and waste anywhere from 15 to probably 72 hours of an installation that would be totaly unnecessary. not to mention loss of "paid for" game time.
would be quite disturbing and upsetting to say the least.

omstead, i just clicked the "Play" button and currently ignoring this small 209 error message.
i hope this is ok and allowed and hope this will not cause me problems now or in the future.

To be honest, made a shortcut from the eso client in the Zenimax Online --> The Elder Scrolls Online --> game --> client folder way back at launch when it first happened.

Personally open from client all the time now; only ever run the launcher on patch days and strictly to update.

Actually forgot that the launcher has a "Play" button until you mentioned it. lol

I had this error, pressed the PLAY button and it went through a verify, download, verify sequence and all was well.
