Only 1300ish a hit? Telel would like to note that they were capable of doing this months ago, and often even when not in stealth. Heck occasionally their heavy attacks have critted for over 1000 but only when they specifically built around using their bow for almost all their happy fun giving.

They would also like to point out that Focused aim is not the one with the health debuff, but instead increases follow up damage, as well as gives a small range boost. Combined with shadow mundus, archer's mind armor, and weapon power pots it can unleash some brutal, but short lived, damage. There's also a good chance a piercing bow with a crushing glyph was used to help knock down the armor for any follow up shots.

From this one's unskilled and humble opinion it seems the OP was hit by a dedicated sniper who others have noted would have likely been toast had there been backup to go after mister hiding pants.

This one suggests that perhaps if this situation worries the original poster they move as part of a group.
    Character: Telel
    Class: Night Blade-Werewolf-viking-ninja-catgirl-mallet wielder
Past times: Refusing to go full magika spec, hitting things with a big hammer, sniping, and speaking in khajiit
Also: Gelel the Derp Knight, Altsel the streaker, and Filafel the temp temp.

Khajiit has a twitch stream! https://twitch.tv/telel_khajiit feel free to come see how truly unskilled Telel is.

That being said, denying that bows are way to strong right now is deluded, new way to get max dps in trials? You guessed it! Bows.

And bows are not allowed to be the max DPS in Trials because....?

It's a dps weapon that has been pretty close to worthless for the entirety of the game's life from launch until now, outside of ganking people from stealth and running away if they didn't die in the opener.

Now that it's where it's supposed to be (high single target dps w/ very little sustain), is there a reason why it shouldn't be higher than Destro which has high single target dps, incredible sustain, and the best AoE damage in the game?

It wouldn't be because you're rocking a staff and assume you're supposed to be the best at everything all the time, would it?

    you only have 2791 health.
get gold veteran glyphs of health on your armor and try to respec for a minimum of 3200 health.

also: when you see or hear you have been hit by a snipe immmediatly block.

hope this helps, as it has saved my life by doing those things i just suggested.

before 1.5.4 you could be one shotted with that health LAWL.... btw, i have same low health, and i was never 2 shotted. after i got hit, i did break and roll roll roll, heal, and roll into cover. and use pot.

And btw. You died from Diabetes.... lol

The stealth attack and range is the perk with the Bow.. its in the design. If you or I were to hit someone with bow out of stealth then your dmg would be subpar. There are already so many ways to counter it, rethink your strat and stop calling for nerfs blatantly.

1v1 a bow user is weak.

You MUST have Impenetrable traits on ALL of your armor, no ands, ifs, or buts...if your going to PVP, every other trait is trash....those are critical hits that's why its doing that much damage.

Secondly, Radiant Magelight is your friend, flat 56% damage reduction from all stealth attacks against you, and you can see them easier.

you have to adapt, there is no 1 bar suits all for everything in PVP, unless your a Dragonknight. :)

70%/80% Impen is over kill imo, can get away with 50% or maybe even 40% not like anyone is stacking crit these days right?

I've used bow since launch, and though I was excited for the changes in 1.5, I still mostly use one hand and shield these days for group play. In my experience as a bow user, and having used it pre and post-1.5, it's pretty good at picking off less tanky players who don't have healers who are paying attention, but very bad at killing players who know what they are doing. If you hear the cue, you can block or dodge the attack. If the attack does catch you off guard, you just break it and dodge roll out of range or otherwise block. When I'm traveling from place to place or when I'm sieging a keep, I usually keep immovable up so stealth attacks can't stun me. I think I've been killed by an archer maybe once since the patch. If I don't dodge the initial attack, I just hold block and dodge roll and that takes care of it. I tend to keep to the front lines of sieges and make myself a target since squishier builds seem to be taken out so much faster.

I dunno. There are a lot of counters to these builds if you are paying attention. I'm not even fully tanked out, sitting just at the armor soft cap with sword and shield equipped, and I haven't had much of an issue with these builds. If you're super squishy, you probably gave up armor in favor of damage or spell resist. Not everyone in Cyrodiil uses spells, and sometimes just standing there isn't going to keep you alive. I don't know if it's because I used a bow that I don't have trouble countering them, but it's really not that tough. If you survive the initial onslaught of snipes and venom arrows, bow users are generally flat out of stamina at that point and pretty defenseless. They'll either run away or hide in a safe place on keep walls until they can try again. So yeah, they can do some pretty nice burst damage and kill certain people very quickly, but that's about it. Other builds can hop into a group, sustain resources extremely well, and AOE until everything is dead, but nobody complains about that. Long-distance stamina bow builds are a halfway decent counter to close-range AOE/sap/bats builds that get stronger with enemies nearby. Bow adds non-spell damage to that fight without buffing or healing the enemy or building their ultimate. Everything has it's place.

tldr: block, dodge roll, scissors always complains about rock.

In what world can the same person hit you w/ 2 sneak attacks in a row?

They weren't even sneak attacks, those were both crits outside of stealth. Otherwise, the first crit would have been higher, as sneak attacks have a higher damage modifier than normal crits.

Actually, both were stealth with the second landing after recloaking. Reason second one is higher is due to focus aim and bow passives giving more damage the further away you are.

Pro tip: if you're sniped and can see who's doing it, run towards them to minimise damage :)

You can't restealth in combat. What you're saying isn't even possible.

Invisible doesn't grant a sneak bonus if you're talking about Dark Cloak.

Those weren't sneak attacks. They were just normal crits.

PS) Focused Aim normal crit would not be higher than a sneak attack Focused Aim, the first number would still be higher. : )
