@ZOS_BrianWheeler Almost every other MMO I know of, has an option to duel with other players and/or your friends.

It's been way too long now that PvP players can only participate in the giant scale war of Cyrodiil.

Many of us want small scale combat as in 1vs1, 2vs2, etc... Not only against players of an enemy faction but ALSO against our friends from the same alliance/

Make it happen Mr. Wheeler.

It's almost inconceivable that duels haven't been implemented already. It's the best way to test out builds and skills, and to make sure the certain effects/buffs are working correctly.

But, then again, maybe they don't want us to be able to do that.....

I played another mmo where we had special instances where you could enter with groups and everyone turned 'Red' inside. However they weren't especially good for testing builds and such since everything worked flawlessly and it sure didn't out in the rest of the game.

As for duelling friends... we quickly got bored and later these instances were hardly ever used. Still, similar instances shouldn't be too complicated to make in ESO or why not a seperate copy of a map for it?

I currently run a guild of about 400+ people, with a daily active tally of about 30-50 depending on day and time. In the normal course of things our guild holds regular events for people to get together and more than anything I would love to have a 1v1 tournament. I've long thought that if they didn't want to disrupt the normal gameplay in zones with people bugging others constantly with dual invites, it would be nice if they would give us guild realms where we could have a base of operations and have the ability to setup the duals within.

We need housing anyway, the lore is there through the use of "pockets of oblivion" the dual mechanic could probably be built off of the justice system, so I hope they do something like this soon.

You can duel in Cyrodiil. It's just very difficult. First of all, you need to get all of the competitors to the same place, which is hard on a buff server where one alliance controls all the keeps, and even harder on an active PvP server where you could get PKed at any moment.

I arrived at our chosen location in minutes because AD controlled most of the map. My EP friend arrived about 10 minutes later, and my poor DC friend took another 20 minutes since he'd had to sneak almost all the way.

Then you have to ensure that you're somewhere isolated enough that random others are unlikely to stumble upon you by accident, and have friends of all factions watching.

It's just a lot of effort to organise.

Personally, I'd love proper PvP duels with ranks. You could have individual, groups of two, and groups of four fights. It would be something for people who don't enjoy mainstream PvP - or whose computers lag too much for Cyrodiil. Currently, it's impossible to tell whether you die because another player is actually better than you, or if they simply have a faster processor/connection. An instanced arena would be a good way to test your skillset/build.
