Update 5 Please Say Somethig Positive to Cheer Me Up

I love ESO. Love, love, love. I have characters in USA and Europe. I have a second account with more characters. I try to play every day. I am not threatening to quit. I am not calling out the devs. I am not raging. I want to continue my love of ESO.

But Update 5 has left me feeling horrible about the game.

I now get almost no XP for anything making going up even a single level looking like a massive task.

Dungeon scaling is a nightmare.

I can no longer out level solo instances to actually beat them.

Completing group dungeons seems to be close to impossible for casuals who work in pugs like me.

I was really excited about Undaunted Pledges but with impossible dungeons and horrible rewards what is the point?

I was really excited about crafting pledges but all I am doing is getting the pledge, going to the bank, buying some materials, crafting some random stuff, handing it in and getting a repair kit as the reward. Where is the fun and thrill in that?

My addons don't work anymore. Yes this is probably an unfair complaint.

Some of my favourite skills got nerfed. A you were a vampire, light robe and staff user right? Wrong. Two handed and heavy armour. Was that really dominating the game so much it needed to be nerfed? Why would they make the weakest weaker?

I was excited about the new style until I spent 2 hours trying to find some and got a total of 1 scrap - I hear you can get about 1 an hour if you are really good, Takes 10 to make 1 frame. Will need 9-11 frames to make a set of equipment meaning you need to do 90-110 hours of mindless grinding to get 1 set of equipment. Serious? The motif books are supposed to be something like 1 page for 4 hours of looking in jugs. There are 34 different pieces of equipment. So something like 136 hours of BORING looking in pots and jugs to learn this. Seriously????

I am at the point where I am looking at youtube videos of other MMOs. I do not want to leave ESO. I was having a ball playing ESO. I wish update 5 was just a bad dream and it never existed but sadly it is real.

I want to be positive. I want to have a reason to log on. I haven't even bothered downloading the EU update I am so depressed at the state of the game. So I am begging can people please tell me something positive about this patch that gives me a reason to log on and play?

its not that bad as everybody crys out here on the forums,
I actually like the scaling and pledges, ok its not perfect (like speed achies are now not really viable) and the loot isnt really waaauw, but it gives the dungeons a replayability and keeps them a challange even for end lvl chars, did the 2 pledges last night with pugs and had a blast, while it had been ages since I did a group dung

and if you need to outlvl solo content to beat it, your doing it wrong, I finished cadwells gold on 2 char (had my 2cnd on VR4 in VR6 zones at VR nerf) and never really had a problem, if I died I had to rethink my strategy a bit here and there and nothing was impossible

the new motif is, wel NEW, everybody s gonna grind it like crazy, so ofc they'll make it rare

and well the xp issues, I've read about it, but since my chars are both vr14 no experience with it, but probably someone frakked up again and there will be a patch for it.... some day

Yes. Too bad all the audio dialog is now laggy and quite out of sync with the animation!

First the solo content is just some quest bosses.
Most quest bosses is not forced solo, that is mainly the main quest lines.
If you fail a lot they will be easier.

The reduced xp is confirmed as an bug, VR leveling was supposed to be faster than before, this will be fixed soon, probably next update.

The new undaunted quests result in a lot of dungeon runs. I guess scaling was needed to let the game give an larger selection of dungeons.

Undaunted Pledges are just repeatable content that a player did if he or she completed the group Dungeon challenges. The difference is the same bosses and mobs the players encounter are a lot harder to kill. The rewards are a joke. In other words no new content, just a bunch of repeatable stuff. And as a finisher with update 5 a lot of bugs, issues and things broken that were working just fine prior to the update.

The changes to 2-handers are not bad.

The lvl 1-50 content and experience is still great. This was always the strong point in ESO for me, all the "Veteran Rank" crapola has been an utter fail since day one, and remains an utter fail until totally replaced (and then will see if the new system turns out to be an utter fail too).

That's about it.

The rest of what you said I agree with but this not so. I only had two different two handed abilities on my bar: carve (nerfed) and stampede (nerfed).

agree, I didnt feel those abilities needed to be nerfed

on the other hand the WW changes and new skill are actually quite good, with the new aoe and desease dot skill, heal and the knockdown you now got a full bar in WW form and alot more damage and utility, really enjoyed testing it out yesterday
maybe not viable yet for end content stuff or pvp (havent tested that out yet) but atleast it doesnt feel like you wasted your ultimate anymore

I was very excited to see some new abilities for WW, but why reduce the duration of the transformation? Vampires get to be Vampires 24/7 they had to reduce WW down to 30 seconds? Why? Why? Why?

Many issues with this, and posts everywhere, with people pointing out where it's broken, and why it should be optional. Hopefully, devs will listen and adjust the new feature accordingly.

At lower levels, it helps to raise your craft skill. at higher levels, you have a chance to get Nirncrux.

As others have said, it's new. Everyone is trying to get them. Give it a while and they'll be everywhere.

There are lots of great games coming out in November. No hope for update 5 it is like the Star Wars episode I of Eso patches. Promised so much but all we got was a Jar Jar.

I logged in after a long trip and found NPCs, towns, and environments looking far better and running far better than they had in the past.

I obtained rewards the level I did content at, and was surprised to find new stuff from the Undaunted.

My group actually enjoyed doing the dungeons we were in, and didn't feel they were too easy or too hard.

They look forward to more.

Honestly... I had nothing but positive responses from the people I was playing with.

I got 50% of my guild hyped and back in the game, and now we can finally play tgt a variety of PVE contents: Undaunted dailies in 24 cool dungeons that some of us never played, Craglorn quests, dgn farming for Dwemer recipes, and even crafting writs(helping each other with materials).
So 1.5 is pure fun imho!
