To heck with mounts, I would simply want a Senche Tiger PET. Just a vanity pet. If the loyalty rewards HAVE to be a freakin' pet INSTEAD of ANYTHING we have actually ASKED for....could they at least be actual ANIMALS instead of just some random freakish monstrosity please???

Yes, we can be upset that we do not like something free. Cost has nothing to do with it. We simply do not like them.
I think the point that you are not seeing is that for those like myself who do not use "pets" its a let down for our "loyalty reward". The loyalty program at this point should be renamed to "quarterly pet rewards".
The people who do not want pets only want another option. I bet you that if the loyalty program had an option between a pet and something else the pets would be rarely found.0 -

Your variety may come down the line. If somebody doesn't use costumes, does it make it any less tacky for people to complain and claim "insult" because a free costume is given instead of X gift? Or trophy, or mount, or ____? I realize it's hard to be happy that somebody else might enjoy the free item that everybody gets ... with no effort ... completely for free, instead of being upset that ZOS didn't poll each player specifically on what they would uniquely want. 6% ESO. That is the percentage of people who wanted yet another "pet". If you are not going to listen then don't plan to see any /feedbacks anymore. Obviously a waste of my time an money.
That was actually a community made poll so technically not zenimax asking us, although if i remember correctly they did acknowledge the poll and might us it in the future.
A lot of tge conplaints about pets is that they waist bank / inventory space which zenimax did say they will not in the future.
While i would personally like something other then a pet (for all we know they had already had this loyalty reward planned all the way back then) for only being subscribed 6 months i am not going to complain, that is a very short time in a life of a mmo. The year mark is where i personally would put something really fun like a costume (or the soul gem idea, but maybe limit it to once a day so it wouldn't take away from the other soul gems, that would be awesome but not to big of a deal).

Maybe if they threw in something else extra with the pet that would satisfy more players. Something useful like a free skill respec or something. Plenty of suggestions here in this thread.
On the topic of pets I would really like to see more summoned creatures. A mages guild or world skill line devoted to summoning. The possibilities are huge. I know right now this is the sorcs thing but I think sorcs would be better off with something else and summoning available to all classes.

I totally agree and should clarify I did not mean summoned pets as loyalty reward. Just that I'd like to see that summoned creatures class expanded in game. I do think something like a free respec is acceptable but also acknowledge that could lead down the wrong path. While i agree that it shouldn't be something that gives an advantage, this shouldn't mean that they can't also give quality of life items. A free respect will not give anothe rplayer an advantage over another, all it does is save a bit of gold. A reusable soul gem that can be used very rarely does not give an advantage it is only a small reduction in their cost.
To me an advantage is an item that gives a player an advantage or is way superior to anything in the game.0 -

Nah...not why I have subbed, but it's certainly not making me rush out to get another time card.
