totaly awesome pet and trust me this is definately AWESOME!!!!

however i have a deep heart break and hurt problem now because, zenimax, you just ruined the chances of this pet being a summonable pet we could have had in the champion system to help us in both pvp and pve. even tho it would be easily killed and not do a whole lot of damage it would still have been soo awesome and made me so very happy.
but alas, now it is imposible to ever have this as a summonable pet in pvp and pve due to the fact you just made it an exclusive item

6 months = $90 sub (assuming $15 a month) + game title... And we get another stupid and worthless pet that cannot even help out in combat?

I think after 6 months of being a subscriber we should get some sort of game item (re-useable) that will do something cool and useful... like allow 50% off skill re-sets or acts as a grand soul gem that recharges on its own every 1 or 2 hrs or so.... Or anything functional that offers some type of real benefit.

I never understood the obsession with pets. I was one of those early release dudes who got duplicate pets and scrolls of mara... and I deleted them as they aren't even worth the space in my inventory.

I'm just glad this is a pet that you don't have to feed and doesn't poop. I have yet to see a single person with an in game vanity pet use the /pooperscooper emote. Players just refuse to be responsible for their gameplay.

Hmmm.....if you subbed for six months it was only $77 and change. Even at $90, that's probably less than some folks spent at Starbucks in six months. This six months playing ESO has been a lot of fun, well worth the price. As for the pets being worthless, I think the saying something about a horse and a mouth xD

I suppose there was the "free" first month (I say "free" as I'm sure the month was build into the game price point) which would bring it to the $80 range instead of $90... irrelevant.

Point being is that, while I do respect those of you who like vanity pets, I personally would like something a little more substantial. At the bare minimum, atleast have it so that reward vanity pets do not take up inventory space. While they are at it, trophies should not take up space either. But the point being is that some worthless vanity pet that takes up inventory/bank slots and does absolutely nothing does not feel like a reward to me.

To your point that $80 bucks + original game (I paid $90 for my pre-release Imperial digital edition) was worth it (entertainment wise) I would agree The amount of entertainment I got from ESO was well worth it to me and I would do it again. And as I said (either here or another thread both today and many days before), I like a lot of what ZoS Is doing.

However, if they are going to give loyalty rewards that are basically nothing more then, at best, RP fodder, then I really don't feel "rewarded". The ice wraith, mud crab, and scuttle pet is quite enough of the "do nothing" pets that take up space for me.

So complaining that you spent X amount of euro, dollars, or whatever for this is silly

If you don't like it, feel free to delete it upon arrival

Also, I read that we are getting our own "pages" for them in the future, which means they won't take bag/bank space ^^

I don't want to be negative here, i mean it looks awesome and i will gladly have it. However, these loyalty rewards are not rewarding PvP players considering we cannot even have our pets out on display in Cyrodiil. What use are they to those of us who spend 90% of our time in Cyrodiil? Please in future consider rewards that benefit all loyal players.

no no no, I don't think so. I never once said ZoS is under any obligation to give me or anyone else anything. I'm not whinning or complaining about dollars or euros, ESO is the cheapest thing I do... I spend more at wally world for 9mm ammo for a single day of shooting than I did all 6 months in sub costs.

However, if they, ZoS, say they want to give loyalty rewards for being sub'ed (perhaps enticing me to stay sub'ed when I'm taking breaks instead of canceling and re-subbing) then, as I said, at the bare minimum stop having vanity pets take up space (and trophies). They do absolutely nothing. Could I delete em'? Sure, and I have.

But if ZoS wants to reward me (I never asked for anything), then atleast give rewards that either don't take up space OR can fight. As an adult, I'm not going to bow down and thank the company that I financially support (in my own very small way) for any "bone" they throw in my direction.

Although I understand your anger and the reason behind it, it makes no sense. Let's say every loyalty reward is something 'useful'. Might seem like a 'small' thing... a discount for respecs here, a master soul gem there... But a few years from now, you'll be giving unfair advantage to some players based on their playtime.

The problem with unfair advantage is that it is... well... unfair. Everyone pays the same monthly fee to play the game and you should never be 'under' someone (In terms of power and potential) just because that person has played for longer. I mean, elder players already have many advantages like their experience & knowledge with the gameplay, their most-likely better gear, etc...

Adding another layer of advantages would only discourage the new players. Do that and you doom your game..

So, I understand ZoS. They're thinking ahead. I don't expect loyalty rewards to ever be "useful", as you way.

They're thanking you for sticking with them, they're not helping you get stronger.

What I do agree is that we could see some variety - maybe outfits/disguises; mounts (when the new mounts get added) and even a dye (like "1-year veteran dye" or something like that)... who knows, there are many options other than pets and still cosmetic/non-functional. Oh, "fun" items like the ones you get from Public Dungeons (trophies) are cool, too.

Oh, and an idea:
GUILD LOYALTY

Guilds that have been around for some time (every 6 months, maybe) and active (maybe use the Guildmaster subscription as a reference) could get a little something, too? Like new tabard designs/colors/borders, new emblem options, et cetera...?

Argumentative:
I disagree - and agree with the person above me. Two years down the line when someone picks up this game and wants to play it for the first time, they shouldn't have to be disadvantaged when up against another player just because they haven't been around long enough to receive loyalty rewards. It would 1) be a bad business move for ZOS as they'll be discouraging future players and 2) foster jealousy and complaints from newer players who also want the "sick dwemer summoned pet".
Further I believe it's pretty rare for MMOs to hand out non-vanity items as loyalty rewards - pretty much for the reasons described above - and so I struggle to grasp your apparent desire for these things when there has never been an expectation of us receiving them in the first place for good reason.

You paid £54, for 6 months in ESO, pretty much nothing more or less, and you can't really call that "bull" if they don't do what you want. Just because it's an MMO doesn't mean it should change the very core of your reaction - if I picked up Assassins Creed Unity and it sucked, or they made the ending turn out some way I didn't want it to, then boohoo. I paid for it, I made a bad call buying a bad game. But because this MMO has a forum on which you can post every complaint and you feel it's now their fault for not doing what you wanted - again, boohoo.)

You paid to play the game. This is a free item that doesn't require effort to attain. No need to throw a tantrum about something you're being mailed for free.

I honestly do not know why they opted for a pet given the fact that we received a pet last time and that linked poll with a hefty sample size clearly wanted something besides a pet.

How difficult would it have been to give us a new costume like a court jester or a fool? Why not a new dye color like "Moron's Maroon" or "Imbecile Indigo?" Why not a new title like "Sap"or "Sucker?"

This new pet is insulting to say the least.

I feel like this quote needs to be re-read by some. Complaining that something extra/free isn't exactly what you wanted is really ... *yawn*. I imagine these same people getting in to an uproar at the grocery store because the 2 for 1 pack of toothbrushes has the extra toothbrush in a color they don't like.
