I wish people would stop using that term at every opportunity.
It just makes them look stupid.

If you want to make the point, then actually spell it out, say what they need to learn, then I'll respect the person saying it.

What to learn? Isn't it obvious? Learning how to deal with various situations so you are able to actually complete them, instead of sitting on the forums and complaining that things are 'too hard' just because you don't feel like putting the required effort into it.

I could do most of the quests, my problem is that I was getting overlevelled (just by doing the missions needed to get achievements), but scaling never works properly, instead of bringing the mobs up to the level they should be, it takes them slightly over, especially with bosses.

Scaling is a mechanism that doesn't work properly, it never has, and from what I can see it never will.

I do not like the new level scaling at all, and feel that instances should not even have an option to scale them to your level.
"L2P" is cheap feedback. Throwing 150k more health onto bosses to make the fights all endurance is also a cheap tactic to add longevity into ESO dungeons. I already beat these dungeons hundred of times before this, and making it five times as tough isn't the way to make me wana come back to get my face smashed on by Imirill's blue balls. It feels like I need to level up in order to beat these Undaunted pledges, and I'm V14.

I have no problem admitting I suck at playing. BUT I love it. Are people who are poor players not supposed to have fun too? The only way I can pass a solo, no matter how much others think it's been dumbed down, is to outlevel it, then come back to it. I love being in the Mage's Guild and Fighter's Guild and finally getting the quests done. I fully recognize that I shouldn't have the privileges and rewards of the skilled groupers and raiders, but I do not think I should be barred from doing everything.

. Seriously folks, if you are that horrible that 3 other people cannot make up for your terribleness in a group dungeon then you probably need to find another game to play.

I don't mind getting a trophy for participation at all. Just playing the game is not supposed to be a competition. It would not hurt one of you elite players if solos had an option. You could make it as hard as you please. I'd like to know why you have such a hard time accepting anyone who is not like you. I shouldn't have to find another game to play if I like playing this one. I love 99% of it. I simply would like scaling to be an option, not a must for solo players.

I like the new level scaling, but feel that it SHOULD be optional, so players can choose to have the instance scaled to their level or not.
NOT making it OPTIONAL totally goes again ZOS advice that of:

"Running away is a viable tactic. Try getting new gear or earning a few levels and trying the challenge again".

Well what's the point of getting a few levels and trying again if the monsters just level with you?

LOL @ ZOS for being so short-sighted.

Yes, and I bet that advice is still in the game.

I'm all for optional, if only for my guildies who haven't yet done the speed challenges in group dungeons and now probably won't.

I am having a bit of trouble with "Castle of the Worm" quest which is part of the main storyline. I read some old posts here on the forums when I was looking for help and a LOT of people said that they over-leveled it and came back. I couldn't help but sigh and laugh at the same time since that is no longer an option. I guess I'll just dump gold into repairs, food, potions, and maybe better equipment until I can figure it out and hopefully complete it. :\

Actually, if anything, I think that the "run away, come back later" is an even better option with solo instance content that scales.

Here is what I discovered. I think that solo scaling is worst from the base level of the instance to the point where you would normally get no experience or loot from mobs in the instance. I think that they are scaling this content, and they should not be. The result is that the scaling makes it harder for you.

However, once you get above that level, the scaling no longer keeps up with you and the instance gets progressively easier. Because it scales up, you are fighting monsters within your experience range, which was not happening before if you waited too long.

When I was doing content that was 15 levels below me, it was easy to do when scaled to my level. The next quest was 10 levels below me and it was harder but not over the top. The last one was within the 5 levels and I was at the top of that range and everyone scaled up to me. It was significantly more difficult until the final boss. This is the one I ended up testing the solo instance nerf system.

Edit: I am one level BELOW the next quest, so I am thinking that I need to get in and get that one done before it starts to scale up on me.

I finally got through Castle of the Worm. I was having the most difficulty with the warden and then a little difficulty with the haunter of the cliffs. I think I killed the warden by pure luck. Anyway, the Mannimarco fight was actaully pretty easy for me. That's the one everyone else seemed to have trouble with. So I either got lucky again, or maybe I got hot and was playing well, or possibly the scaling detected that I suck and lowered the difficulty. :p I seem to recall reading that it would lower the difficulty if you are having trouble. Regardless, I got through it. If the down-scaling did come into play, then maybe it's not all bad. I still feel like scaling should be optional though. Just my opinion.

I like the new level scaling, and feel that it should NOT be optional, so that everyone is required to complete these instances without over-leveling them.
The new dungeon scaling also prevents people from solo farming group dungeons to get the new special boss drops.

solo instances scaling (eg: FG & MG) needs to be optional at the very least.

also with all the people spamming zone chat "LFG regular spindle pledge vet only" "LFG regular BC non-pledge" the grouping has been a bit more confusing and difficult.
