Writs Are Useless If I Don't Possess the Skills to Craft Them

It's probably a significant coding issues that couldn't make it into 1.5.1, but I'm still getting assigned max level crafting writs for clothier, woodworking and blacksmithing despite being VR5 with only 7/9 in the appropriate skill. Giving me writs for nightwood, shadowspun and voidsteel is pointless. I can't create it.

It would appear that you have tied the writs to your crafting experience level which I have at 50 for all three, when it should really be tied to the skill points in metal working, tailoring and wordworking.

ZOS, can we get this confirmed as a known issue? Otherwise one of the huge features in 1.5 is broken to the point of it being useless.

I wouldn't say it's "broken to the point of it being useless". Most people who have 50 in a crafting skill, tend to assign skill points in that skill so they can craft higher level items.

Or they have an alt character supporting their main so they only put the points needed to craft the item for that main.

People distribute things a lot of different ways. It would make more sense to base the writ of the point allocation then the skill level which often doesn't show the complete picture.

I'm having the same issue. Looking forward to a reply.

Provisioning skill I do not have the recipe for the required food/drink. Ingredients are probably easier to get than the recipe.

I am no longer having this issue in 1.5.2. I love this to proposal though:

I would suggest that this is working as intended to stop the gold sellers and farmers making a killing.

This way you have to actually invest the skill points in the craft if you want decent rewards - which if its just an alt that you've speed levelled to 50 crafting will be more difficult.

Otherwise players would be doing 8 x 3 writs a day which had the potential to give surveys rewarding the top level materials in the game. (8 Char x WW, BS & Clothing writs)

Perhaps the hand in point being Craglorn would already prevent this - but for the sake of putting a couple of points in a skill I would say its an easy player fix rather than something that is a bug and needs recoding.

Personally as a VR5 the inability to farm Shadowhide, even though I can farm the other Lvl 50 mats in that area is more of an issue as levelling up another 4 vet levels will take far longer to do - but is certainly giving me the incentive to start levelling again as hide drops are now on player level rather than area level.
