So ive been away from the game for about 4 months now and looking at coming back. Any news on PS4 release ? as this will definitely impact my decision.

Sorry no news, if someone had heard they would have posted several threads saying when the console release is, just because they could.

So a lack of anyone doing so has only one meaning.

There were some news that they are still busy with console release, however I wouldn't expect it this year.

I'd be very surprised to see any release news about the console version until the Champion System is fully rolled out.

Think it would probably be too much of a change if it released and then everything in the upper tiers of the game changed.

Anything not annouced with a actual date is 6 months to a year out. Even though the console release has a date we all know how that has went the last few dates that were given.

They will probably will not even consider a console release until they have a date for the champion system which is prob mid next year. They couldn't make the release date with the current content they will never make a december release with the new content and i doubt they will release it without new changes.

    Nope.

I expect that we will have a release date announcement in the next few weeks and that people will be playing ESO on the console within the next 6 months.

end of December good one :)

    Seriously -

Game releases are determined by financial quarters 4 a year q1-4
we're nearly into q4 for this year and i haven't heard a peep about beta for consoles so that's out.

consoles beta will need to be about 3 months which pushes release into q1 next year for definite. Q1 seems very optimistic which means Q2 is the most realistic possibility.

Short Answer : between April and June next year probably to coincide with the pc 1 year anniversary.

I hope they canned the entire console version and focus on making ESO an exclusive PC game.

I hope they canned the entire console version and focus on making ESO an exclusive PC game.

As a casual player I was satisfied that at one point I had a char max level and near max crafting with almost all motifs and I pretty much lost interest. Then ESO discovered DLC's and now my main is just a wanabe and I am happily pulled back into the game.

There is no rule that says that releases have to be on, or after, quarter boundaries. Historically, if you look at Zenimax Media releases, they can come at any time during the year.

You are more correct, I think, about the anniversary than the quarter.

I expect everything will be finished and ready around Update 8, which is in March. If I am right, the console will ship prior to or on the first anniversary. There is a possibility that they could hold until the first week of April and combine the console release with the first anniversary and relaunch the game. This could be a smart move to counter both the initial lackluster reviews and the delay of the console.

Party Time! Every active subscriber on a certain date will get a free Anniversary pet or achievement and 10 days additional time. Tamriel will be filled with flowers and jocular NPCs and we will have our first in-game Holiday. That would be Gardtide, by the way, something normally only celebrated in part of Daggerfall, but it includes festivals and flowers. They can create a new one, though. I will allow it. I will even allow a larger amount of free time.

    My main thoughts:
    • They have a second chance to make a good launch, they do not want to waste it.
    • I expect the console version to be out in the next six months. It will be out before, or in conjunction with, the 1st anniversary of ESO.
    • The console and Champion System may be tied together, possibly also with Murkmire or other end game content.
    • We will hear more about the console plans in the next few weeks.
    • Console announce will come with a very interesting Road Ahead, full of features and plans and enthusiasm.
    • The console release will also be a "relaunch" of the game.
    • I want a first anniversary party and in-game holiday
I expect that we will have a release date announcement in the next few weeks and that people will be playing ESO on the console within the next 6 months.
