I just get the feeling that this is going to end up being a horrible mess for weeks after it comes in, past experience of updates for this game make me somewhat pessimistic.

@Lunerdog My suggestion would be to encourage as many people as you can to get on PTS and test it out thoroughly before it goes live. If we have a solid force doing this, we might be able to catch majority of the game breaking bugs before they hit live.

    So promote PTS!

It seems, I wasn't able to explain it to you. And I don't understand, why you think grinders would have an advantage. In what way do you think they can use their alts to max out their main?

having 8 chars at v14 > 1 char at v14 [if the VR are not increased till CL]

@Tankqull They track XP even after VR 14, so it's based on total account XP. So if you had a single VR 14 character that has obtained 50,000,000 XP, and you have 8 characters that have obtained 49,000,000 XP in total, the VR 14 will be ahead.

They stated that they still tracked xp when the cap was Vet12 :)

    But they didn't :(

If you're referring to it not counting towards the increase to VR 14, well they never said it would.

But they were and are tracking it. That doesn't mean you get credit for it in terms of VR levels.

I have alts below Level 50 and my main is VR14 which I still play regularly SO currently I do not get any more VP however knowing there is a system in the background counting my VP/XP for CP later am I better off to continue playing my main or switch to my alts and level them to VR instead?

They do not clarify if you still earn points from the background system if you are already VR14, because if I don't any earn anything shouldn't I just stop playing my main?

I asked exactly that question on the Guild Summit. And Maria answered, that it does make sense to play your VR14 character, as they can track all points he would get, allthough we don't see that.

Sonds like false promises. :/ They also said they were tracking vp at vet 12 for next level cap. Look where that went. A lot of people were pissed over wasted vp.

Plus, look at this bug going on with skill line xp. I don't see how people are still optimistic after all this community has experienced in game. It seems the guild summit was a successful pr move. The goal was to use influential members of the community for a trickle down of sales pitches and hype of what's to come while still seeming like they care about the players and their feedback. A lot of the guild leaders invited were too busy drooling over Paul Sage's used tissues and asking for autographs to give any constructive criticism.

VP->XP->CP that's the conversion. No matter how, where or on which character you gained the XP, it'll translate into CP. So if you want the maximum, get grinding.
I think there is a CAP in the amount of XP we will be able to trade for CP!

They said there is a cap (which is as yet an undecided level), but it will only effect very few people. So unless you grind for 40 hours a week, you are probably safe.

Also absolutely everything in this thread is massively subject to change, or just flat out assumption, it should not be treated as accurate in anyway.

even if they track the xp they atleast currently do not track the vp (otherwise vet increasements would be instantly compensated...) - and the gained xp in vet regions is awefull while i get ~300xp for a lvl 47 mob i recieve 16xp for a vet 9 mob ...

I don't think I'm explaining it well. They track it, doesn't mean it's active advancement in the game, they just have tracking data for it.

This is going to basically put the nail in the coffin for any new players coming to the game.

It would be like trying to get into Eve right now... You would be nothing but a fart on the radar.

I definitely see where you are coming from on that front, but you're comparing a different style all together. EVE is different because that gap allows you to use ships and equipment that a starting player just doesn't have a chance against, among other various things.

ESO is different in the fact that the only time you would see a difference between a starting player and an experienced one would be in PVP, and you generally see that now anyway.

I think the Champion System will actually add more balance in that regard, as it isn't an insta-God setup. It takes time and a good build to really get the best out of the system. It's not like you can drop 2000 points into one thing, it forces you to be more diverse.

But at the end of the day, this is all assumption on both our parts, and I guess when it eventually hits PTS we will see how it turns out. A lot of things can change in the system between now and then. So I don't really think there is much point defending it or condemning it at this point.

It's kinda like Cyrodiil, before launch I was under the impression that a lot of things were going into determining who would be emperor, like questing and doing other things, not just who had the most AP but I guess that was thrown out the window. I guess my point is that I would think Zen would've learned from that and not based CP's on just xp but who knows?

There have definitely been some changes from what was mentioned at the guild summit. I'm not sure how I feel about a lot of it to be perfectly honest. By the time we get this patch, it's going to be about 16 weeks since the last one, then probably another 12+ weeks before the next one if you look at their plan. That's a lot of faith in the content of the Justice System and the Champion System. I guess we will have to wait and see about what is coming down the line.

I am quite disappointed in a lot of aspects that are going on. I feel that the ZoS prioritization of what is important to players is actually on the other end of the spectrum to what players really want. It feels like content and changes are happening aimed at the release for console.

I've been a strong supporter of ZoS for quite a while now, but as of late I really have felt like I've been paying to beta test the console version so that the console players get the full experience on release.
