Auto Group for Dungeons

As a player that has come from the single player side of the Elder Scrolls I have a difficult time finding other players to group with that are on the exact mission I am on. The few times I’ve needed a group to play with I feel like I have to spend an annoying amount of time zone-yelling for someone… anyone that wants to run the dungeon and is looking for a group. Most people approaching group dungeons are either with a group, waiting on a group or just zoom past to quickly to speak to. I feel like I am reduced to the role of a beggar and that’s not exactly the type of character I’m going for.

Chat bubbles will help this immensely, but I was hoping for a fix that is a bit more… effective. (EDIT: Chat bubbles did NOT help with this... most people keep them off.)

I wonder if would it be possible to implement an auto-grouping matchmaking dynamic where upon entering a group dungeon I can be automatically grouped with other players (or be placed in a group with an opening). This would have to be a toggleable feature where a player or group can opt-out if they wish. There could also be a system developed where a player can access a WayShrine and choose to be randomly added to ANY dungeon group across Tamriel, or choose the dungeon they wish to run. This could be good for players that would like to just hop into a quick dungeon run.

The biggest concern I have about this type of system is that there are so many dungeons in the world that there might not be enough players playing each dungeon to make this system effective… but I may be wrong.

Any thoughts?

Seeing some of the complaints about the grouping requirement in Craglorn really makes me think an auto-grouping mechanic is sorely needed within ESO...

I fail to understand how chat bubbles will help. Please enlighten me?

Join a guild. I am in 1 smaller top tier and 2 big and very good guilds and can always get helps for things.

Still - chat bubbles - tell me more?
I think they would be hideous - but maybe I am misunderstanding.

How is this different from the current system? Instead of signing up for a group in the LFG menu, you have to walk to the dungeon - otherwise the mechanism stays exactly the same. It's actually worse because we have to waste time standing around in the dungeon waiting for complete group instead of doing something productive.

This would be nice, though. We should be able to queue for the whole tier, not only one dungeon.

    @Gidorick , they're overhauling this very thing in 1.5.

The available level ranges are opened up, for one. Secondly, the group does not form at all until all members are found.

This allows you to continue your current activity without the standing around currently mentioned.

Yeah but that's 1.5, not what I got from the OP's suggestion. Except that second part about Tamriel-wide search.

It will help with the group peddling. I can stand outside a dungeon and say "anyone want to group? " and it will be visible. Right now it seems like /say is ignored and I have to /whisper which can be annoying if I have a small crowd to ask.

You guys are right. The upcoming changes will help with grouping... just need to wait and see how much it'll help. ;)

I think people even ignore Whispers, I have had maybe one person respond to a whisper in the past few weeks.

But will the group leader bug be fixed? Took me 4 tries last night to be group leader of a group I started. Usually only 1 or 2 but that time it was 4. *grinds teeth*

I hope in the grouping upgrades they take a look at the addon AutoInvite.
