Display issues since Nvidia driver update

Anyone else have issues since the recent Nvidia driver update?

Mine automatically updated yesterday and since then ESO seems to be running at like 640x480 or some other horrendous resolution. I can switch the res in game to my monitor's native 1920x1080 but it doesn't help. Other games appear to be fine.

I haven't done much troubleshooting yet, will probably do a clean install of my drivers.

No. Not having this issue. What GPU you running?

    GTX 770.

It's a pretty weird since it is only an issue with ESO. I'll take a closer look at things when I get home tonight and see what's up. Just wanted to be sure it wasn't a common problem.

    Thanks,

Just updated my driver yesterday. No problems with ESO. Did you check the settings for optimizing games? It is in the NVIDIA GeForce Experience under the tab Games. There I can also set the game resolution, etc. Maybe it overrules the other settings.

Make sure to completely uninstall all gfx drivers before you update them. Use display driver uninstaller it will completely remove it.

Yep, uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers is your best bet to resolve this display issue. If that doesn't work and you're running ESO on multiple monitors, that could be the culprit.

Also, just wanted to let you know that we've moved this thread to the support section. Thanks!

GTX750 here, no issues with the latest driver, however mine was a manual install.

I'm not a fan of automatic updates for number of reasons. They like to install extras, for one. You don't know if they complete properly, for another.

Notify when it's available, fine. Install your self (auto), pass.

I'd try a roll back (accessible from your GeForce Experience menu) first (and I'd turn off auto update, while you're there.)

If you get no love from that, try a full driver uninstall followed by a fresh install of the latest.

If still no love, you might shut down your machine, reseat your video card (Pull it out of socket, place it back - this gets rid of oxidation on the contacts), do a dust check - canned air if necessary, and finally, make sure all of your power supply connections to the card are good.

I usually reseat memory while I'm in there.

Fire it up, with the cover still off, and make sure the fans on the card as spinning properly. Replace cover and see what you get.

A loose connector can turn your 770 into a DOS inspired 77 in a heartbeat, while seeming to function normally otherwise.

Let us know how you fare.

Also, Nvidia types, this forum post can help some of the responsiveness issues you may have experienced - though not directly related to the video card.

Just because you don't like the way something is doesn't necessarily make it wrong...

Sorry about the delay in following up here.

I did a clean install of the latest Nvidia drivers and that fixed the issue. To clarify, I just selected the "clean install" option in the Nvidia installer, didn't use any third party uninstallers.

    Thanks for the help everyone!

Nvidia clean install usually does the trick. Sometimes an old setting get damaged or corrupted causing problems.

Good idea to keep a copy of the full clean install stops posted as well. Everyone once in a while you do need the nuclear strength clean install to get it working.

I saw this post at work and was gonna help when I got home but you have already taken care of that.
