Hireling Email Question Possible Bug

I logged into my V4 character and gathered all the items from her hireling emails, banked my goodies and logged out to the character screen. I then logged into my mule/alt I keep for my overflow items and took a few items from the bank and logged out to the character screen. I did not notice she had received hireling emails so I didn't retrieve them. I logged back into my V4 to go play and noticed I had mail when I exited a wayshrine. It was the hireling mail for my lvl 10 alt. I didn't think characters could open hireling mail that belonged to other characters? This is the second time this has happened. Just checking to see if this is a bug or acting as it should.

Again I had not opened any of the emails on my lvl 10 alt and they all went to my V4 like new mail. The new mail notification showed up after I had gone through a wayshrine a few minutes after logging into my V4. I know they belong to my alt as they are all low level items, maple, nickle, iron, etc and I had just received my V4 hireling mail 10 minutes before I received these.

Yes any character on your account can open hireling mail sent to one of your alts.

There is only one email inbox for the whole account. Hirelings emails are generated when you log into the character that has the hireling passive, but the email arrives in an inbox that is shared between all your characters.

Hey there @Seravi!

This is completely normal. Since the inbox is global, you can grab the hireling mails from any character that you would like. In order to receive the mail, you just need to log in to the character with the hireling passive.
