What is at least one thing you love about TESO?

I feel like it's occasionally good to hear positive things so let's see if this discussion goes anywhere. I will start it off. And remember it is at least one thing. So you can name how ever many things you love about this game as long as there is at least one.

First and mostly, I love that it is and Elder Scrolls game that I can play with other people! I have 99% of the time run into and befriended many helpful and friendly people in this game who were almost always willing to join me in a quest or help out with a Group Boss or through a group dungeon.

I have had higher level people who have already done these quests willing to just come and help out if I couldn't find anyone to join me.

I love the art work! This game is beautiful and really carries on the true beauty of Tamriel.

I have discovered I love being a healer! It is so much fun for me running around kicking @$$ and seeing someone who is about to kick the bucket and throw a heal at them so they can continue kicking @$$!

I love the group dynamics of dungeons and how having a group that knows their individual roles and plays them well will make or break how you get through that dungeon. I have played the same dungeons over and over with different groups and some groups were amazing and other groups failed because a role wasn't filled properly and I think that is pretty interesting how well that works.

I love the lore! I am thankful they have carried a lot of the lore over into this game and even some of the easter eggs from previous TES games.

Anyway, I can go on and on. But those are just a few of the things I love about The Elder Scrolls Online. Let's here what you love!!

Its strange... i can think of dozens of negative criticisms on this game, bugs, gameplay issues, and yet still i can't quit playing. What i love the most? I don't know but i do know it is just too addictive for me

I enjoy the atmosphere a lot, when I was playing earlier I heard a bee swirling around my chars head, my summoned creature was singing and a boar grunted.

While most players wont take note of that, for me it matters a lot.

But also the graphics enhance the whole atmosphere, it can be cloudy or sunny, morning or afternoon, foggy or raining etc.
If they could fix the fps drops so that entering a quest hub or town doesn't results in a drop to 30 - 35 fps from 60 then I would be pretty much happy with the state of the game performance wise.

If I had to choose one thing, It would have to be lore. That would be my answer for every Elder Scrolls game though. Thus far there isn't much I don't like about ESO, im pretty pleased with it.

Thanks for the couple comments so far! Again this is things we love about the game and not things we want fixed if you could leave that stuff to another discussion, that would be greatly appreciated!

There isn't anything about ESO that I love.

Its an "ok" MMORPG. Definitely lots of bugs, and for absolute certainty a lack of experience on the Dev/QA/Product design side when it comes to making TES an MMO.

Lets just say... there's LOTS of room for improvement...

Oh another thing I love about the environment. I was helping out with a Dolmen in Stormhaven yesterday and just happened to look out across the water and there was the Adamantine Tower! I never noticed it before, but there it was silhouetted just off in the distance.

I would say only the quests and the lore.

Nothing much i like or consider this game to be good at past that.

Thank you for your opinion, but I am asking for things people love about the game. This comment belongs in all the other discussions about what people don't love about the game and does nothing to contribute to this particular discussion. And seeing you have four V12 characters leads me to believe there is a little more to this game that you love than what you are putting off ;)

I say this hesitantly... I enjoy the playerbase. I was on Thornblade awhile back and some guy started using the f word in zone (the hate slur) and people actually got offended, and put him on ignore, and reported him.

First game I have played in awhile where the playerbase didn't feel like a throwback to the 90s.

I really love the community.. outside of this forum at least, people tend to be friendly and engaging and extremely helpful. I've only met one bad person in game. I find it to be extremely newbie friendly. People aren't shamed often for not knowing the mechanics or how certain things work. Maybe I've just stumbled into good guilds, but so many people are so helpful and offer to help me get traits for my crafting, explain dungeons to me, take me through PVP for my first time when I was mega confused.

I also love the art direction. I tried playing Wildstar by the cartoon-y character models and world really isn't my thing anymore.

I loved questing in ESO. Unlike The-MMO-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named, when I complete a quest objective the world actually changes. I helped a Priestess of Kyne recover her faith and all of a sudden the mobs that had previously wanted my head are just going about their business. Or I help stop a war and from then on the battlefield remains empty. For an MMO there is a lot of world-changing stuff to do, where my heroic deeds actually show some result.

A big fan of the crafting, too. In every other MMO I've played ( which is most of them ), crafting was either useless, insanely grindy or, at best, meh. I LOVE that I can make gear at 22 that will probably be useful up to level 30, especially when using TWO sets for multiple bonuses. That's just plain cool.

I love the combat. Sure there are bugs, but combat is fast and exciting; so much better than watching a bar waiting for cooldowns!
Templars are 'just slower... by design'
Yes, Gina actually said that (at least regarding Rushed Ceremony) right here:

Aside from the occasional wearer of le chappeau du derrier, the community in ESO has been incredibly helpful. Noob questions are usually answered with only a modicum of light, good natured ribbing.

Water. Coastal areas, rivers, puddles, ponds, wet streets, rain. I really like how they gave them visual depth (and reflections too). ESO really exceeded my expectations with bodies of water and ports. Love em.

Style based crafting as opposed to material based crafting. There was a mod for Skyrim that added it(Tamrielic Armory) that allowed you to craft all the various styles of weapon and armor separately from the chosen materials. And I really really wish they'd stick with this to the next single player installment.

Magicka vs stamina imbalance, I will stop playing one day due to it. It's not a level playing field.

    Zos' solutions are pretty average.

This belongs in another discussion as I specifically asked what people love about the game and not their complaints. Why not stop playing now?

    This.

In my experience of this and most other MMOs since 1998, most of the complaining comes from PvP'ers and min-maxers, and this one is no different. TES games aren't really aimed at those markets, and for those prepared to take their time and soak up the lore as they smell the roses along the journey rather than rushing to the destination, amid any other cliche'd metaphors anyone can come up with, the game is exceptional.

Kudos Zenimax, you guys done good :)!

Just about everything. Sound effects are particularly cool... in scope even. Hearing thunder on the horizon sounds just like it should... a far away battle... and of course a dolmen getting closed.

Agree!! I remember the first time I heard an anchor open up. Actually gave me the chills. But that last explosion of an anchor and then the silence after is pretty intense :)

Haha on the subject of sound effects. I was sitting here playing the other night and ran past a squirrel chattering and my dog went nuts. I have heard them before but never really noticed it until my dog was climbing into my lap cocking her head at my speakers :stuck_out_tongue:
