I played the beta, twice. I always like to at least give something a chance before passing judgement. Just checked it out again last week...

ArcheAge truly is uninspired, clunky, and outdated. Yes, the character creation is good, but that is about the end of it for me.

Someone else on these forums put it best: "ArcheAge, 2001 called. They want their game back!" This is true on many levels.

The graphics are actually a step back from Rift, the last major Trion release (yes I know that Trion is just carrying this Korean company and it isn't actually their game).

Whole sections of the map are just drab, flat, featureless grind pits. No sense of scale or realism like ESO. Hell I felt more immersed in WoW!

Then there is the landscape seams, the horrible fog effects that blind you, clunky combat where you literally hold a button down to attack (they actually removed the difficulty of having to physically mash the iwin button), and even the artistic style I really just can't get behind.

I liked a lot of the Korean graphics in Aion, though generally, I am NOT a fan. other than the armor, that is usually pretty sweet. But the giant dragon-llamas that serve no functional purpose but to look like a giant cultural pinata? Meh.

The biggest thing AA was lacking, is the biggest thing ESO has going for it, and that is WORLD DESIGN.

The landscapes and scale in ESO is untouchable by anything out or coming out.

I stopped playing Rift when Trion introduced the 'schoolgirl' outfit to the the game.....even though there are no children in Teleria or schools.
I'm fine with the normal sexy armour which is the RPG genre but not with the sexualisation of schoolgirls or minors.
I saw the Archage also has this outfit ingame...ALOT. So that made it an easy choice for me to uninstall and never look back.

nb, if any of you played Rift...Yes I am THAT Sindala that got Multi-boxing removed from PvP >:)
Being First is not the prize, it just mean's everyone can stab you in the back.

AA was really quite poor I found. based on the web site I actually purchased the game, but after 1 beta I asked for and received a refund. Old graphics, old combat system, out dated thinking like mob tagging etc. The free to play while technically true (true the same way car manufacturers claim "58 mpg!") it is not even close to FtP.

The gankers of course will love the game since that is all it is past level 30. The concept of player driven economy/crafting is true, but the design is seriously flawed. It will have its nitch player base, but I seriously doubt ESO players will flock to it (darkfall players maybe)

If they have a stealth class that WORKS will give it a try.

If you break something, you can glue it back together and fix it, but, it will always be broken...
