Ebonheart Pact *A Timely Manner* broken?

Hey everyone. My wife was going through the EP quest "Fighting Back" in west Deshaan, she took the path that leads to the quest "A Timely Manner" where you are supposed to blow a whistle in front of a house.
The problem is when she pushed 'e' to use the whistle when prompted, it say "you don't meet the requirement". Same thing happens when trying to use it from inventory.
She tried fully quitting/closing the game and coming back, logging, /reloadui, and dropping the quest and reacquiring it. No change. I tried Googling it, but only got a bunch of links talking about needing to fix bugs in a timely manner. Little to nothing on the actual quest.

Heishi✭✭✭✭✭Glad to know it's not just us. We have a few chars in EP that are further along from pre-patch, but now we're trying to push a couple alts. The unfortunate thing about the situation with this quest is that even if you drop it, you can't remake the decision and take the other (non-broken) route.And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. I finally got an alt to this quest myself. After noticing getting the same problem with whistling for Rexus on Bleakrock, I wondered if the two were connected. I ran around trying to see if it was a particular spot I needed to stand when I whistled. Eventually I got it with Rexus.
Later, once I got it to "A Timely Manner" I encountered the same issue my wife and you two noted.
I tried the same thing I did with Rexus, I repeatedly pressed e while running around in the area. Eventually it ended up working.
My wife when she tried, was running then stopping and pressing e, it wasn't working anywhere. It specifically has to be done while on the move. Don't know what this means for the devs to fix this, but there it is. a work around to get through this quest.And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again. i did the same it did not seem to work running around facing down the steps but when i ran down the did the same facing up it worked0 -

We're glad to hear that a workaround was found for this. We'll be sure to send this along to the appropriate team to receive some attention, as this bug may be confusing for future players. We appreciate your patience!
EDIT: Spoke too soon on that one, it appears this was already reported to our devs and will be fixed in a future patch! The usable area for the item does not match the area where the prompt appears, which is causing the confusion. If you are facing the stairwell from the bottom, try standing on the far right and the prompt should work. This will be fixed in a future patch so that the entire area with the prompt will be considered a usable area for the item. Heishi✭✭✭✭✭Yeah, it seems to be hit or miss for different quests that have parts with "Use x item in y area". for me it's wasn't just a magic spot, it was using it while on the move in an area. Relating to this quest specifically, it seemed to be the left hand side of the stairs going up to the area. I have another alt slowly working up to this area, i'll be able to see how it worked out then.And so did many brave men, women, and beast fall to the end of Beta, never to be heard from again.
