Patch day woes

So another big patch day, and another struggle with ESOs launcher/patching system..

Long story short, for the big updates my system crawls to a slow whenever we come to the Applying patch part of the update.. swapping between folders/programs in windows is painfully slow, as is browsing Chrome. Basically, whenever ESO is applying patch I might as well leave the PC as it requires extraordinary patience for anything.

Anyone get this like me, or is it something on my end? Like old pc/hdd etc (System is 6-7 years old)

Also, why does the launcher have to apply a full 28-29 gigs, when I only downloaded 2 gigs for the update?

And lets not even get into the fact that 99% of the times I try and patch with the big updates the update will fail as some point, meaning I have to run a repair and hope that fixes it. Often I get the manifest error, but it seems that I can still play.

TLDR; soooo many issues with the way this game patches, I have never experienced such a drain trying to update an MMO before.
