Fatal Error 11

Since I patched my game this morning, I've been unable to even make it to the login screen. I would push "Play" on the launcher, the screen goes black, and about 2 minutes later, ESO's crash report comes up with "Fatal Error 11". My first instinct was to think "No problem, just repair the client and whatever broke should be overwritten." Unfortunately, that in itself is a bit of a big problem: repairing the client gives me a hefty 25+ GB of files to download, and college networks suck - the highest speed I've managed to attain thus far is around 200 kB/s via ethernet cable. Is there some way of fixing this "Fatal Error 11" that doesn't involve redownloading the entire game and taking a forced 2-3 day break?

If there's anyone out there who can help me, either a ZOS employee or a fellow player who's encountered this same error, I would highly appreciate any advice that gets me around a 25 gig download. Thank you in advance.

I am having the same issue. I deleted the patchdata folder and tried again. It downloaded ~9GB of something but resulted in the same fatal error. This is frustrating.

I am having this same issue. When I got to the computer today, I had left the launcher open from the night before and it had a prompt to repair. I thought it was just a problem with the patch, so I just closed and opened the launcher again. After downloading the patch, when I attempt to play I get the Error 11 crash.

I have no doubt that any "solutions" will be to reinstall, but I don't see that as an option with the unreasonably large game/patch files and my data bandwidth being as low as it is.

    Hello all,

The error 11 is normaly solved by using the Repair option on the launcher.
Players can repair the files for The Elder Scrolls Online on their computer by following the steps below:
    • First, start The Elder Scrolls Online launcher by double clicking on the icon on your desktop.
    • Wait for the launcher to finish starting.
    • If multiple ESO clients are installed and available through the launcher, make sure to have the correct version highlighted by clicking on it once.
    • In the middle of the launcher there will be an entry for Game Options next to an icon of a small cog wheel.
    • Open the Game Options dropdown menu and click on the option for Repair.
    • Allow the launcher to examine all the files for the game. This may take some time.
    • If any files are found to have problems, the launcher will re-download those files.

This should allow you to play the game.

You can also check if all the updates are correctly installed :
    - Manually update your launcher. Details on how to do this can be found here.

    - If the above step do not resolve your issue, please try the following:
    • Open the game installation directory “Zenimax Online”
    • Open the folder named “Launcher”
    • Inside the “Launcher” folder, there is a folder named “ProgramData”
    • Delete the “ProgramData” folder
    • Open the launcher and download update
    • Click “Play”

If none of these options resolve your issue, please contact our Customer Support Team.

    Thank you.

This is a guess, but I think this problem popped up for me because I had an outdated launcher (back from beta) it is had still been working until just recently. I could be wrong, and of course have no clue what-so-ever as to why my launcher did not update *shrug*

The big hint for me was in the above quote about "repair" option being in the middle of the launcher screen, and for me, there was nothing but a blank news area (which did until this issue show news and news links just fine).

So I started a reinstall (digital, not disk) and it gave me a whole new launcher. Ironically, the launcher still had the crash problem (as in never seeing a Bethesda or Zenimax load screen, just back and the error report pic above). But the new launcher did have "repair" in the right hand window with the Mega Server and repair option worked, taking only a couple of minutes to address the issue.

So if your load screen is not -

Chances are you're in my boat of, "Huh? This has never happened before"
