Seriously its not that rare. I found 4 in 45 mins. I loot everything I see including enchanting and herbs. Just spend an hour harvesting nodes and I gaurantee that you'll have at least 1 if not more. Hurry up and get them cause we need more crafters with 9 set done for update 5. Hurry up and get to work.

I think you are the exception to the rule. Your "guarantee" definitely fails.

I started tracking stones found vs. time spent. My best was one stone over two hours of harvesting Upper Craglorn. My worst was one stone in ELEVEN hours of harvesting Upper Craglorn.

I currently average one stone per six hours spent harvesting as long as I do my harvesting in the off hours.

I would consider the biggest nerf to Crafting was in the creation of the crafting process used in ESO when they completely eliminated the need to actually craft anything to become a Grand Master in Crafting.

If they ever create a Legendary recipe it better contain bacon as one of the ingredients. I'm just sayin'.

I already have 20 different items researching for 30 days towards the 9th trait. Don't worry, full sets will be available. (EU Server)

20+ stones harvested in Upper Craglorn by the way, so keep digging.

I am totally under-welmed by how they did the new trait. I would have preferred it was a 64 day research with no new 30 day passive reducing research times than how they implemented it.

Another slap in the face to the people whom have crafted in this game since day one, for very little if any advantage, especially when one considers all the time we spent juggling inventory to craft, we could have been spent leveling our characters and advancing in pvp.

I have gathered 14 of the nirnhoned items so far and it will be quite a pain to get all 34. I like how they made crafting challenging again. However, if there is no 9 traits set in the next patch it will be all for nothing again ...

I now have two staffs crafted and two armors crafted on alts and all four will be researched this week maybe 2 more so i can make a 5 trait match ... i was hoping the 9th match, Twice born star was good. At first it sounded great but today i was thinking i don't really need a stam boost, and lots of lower matches are comparable on the 5th trait when compared with another mundas stone boost.

    Twice-Born Star ref info
9-trait item set, “The Twice Born Star” coming in Update 5, which is now on PTS. The crafting station is in Upper Craglorn
    (2 piece) Increased Health
    (3 piece) Increased Stamina
    (4 piece) Increased Magicka
(5 piece) Allows the player to activate two Mundus Stone boons simultaneously. (devs confirmed Divines bonus works for both buffs)

I guess its a time/money sink with little actual gains.

I spend 44,000 in gold to get two items to do some 9th trait researching, how dumb was that :\ .

Hmm maybe I am the exception to rule. Being a nb I guess it helps to be a little more sneaky which equals more nodes.to be farmed. But ya I average at least 1 an hour or more. I farm every morning I get off of work till I find one. I play for two hours a day. 1 or less farming and rest qqing in pvp.

This has not been my experience at all. I have spent numerous hours harvesting ore, wood, blooms, runes and alchemy plants - well over 2,000 harvested nodes. I have found only 5 nirncrux stones. From what I surmise by speaking with others, their experiences are closer to mine than to yours.

Anyone with a V1+ toon can farm nirnhon (just harvest any ore, wood or cloth plant in upper craglorn)

No need to be a 'hardcore' guild. You just need a V1+ toon and a lot of time, as the chance of getting nirnhon from a node is like 0.25%

The biggest 'nerf' to crafting is the top 100 on weekly trials now get legendary gear, so they do not even need a craftier to upgrade there drops anymore.

Every mmo 'dumbs' down crafting after a while. There is no money in crafting except selling potions and foods.

    2.000 x 0,25% = 5 B) i.e. your experience is totally inline

iirc I have 16 stacks wood 12 stacks ore 3 stacks flowers = 3.100 items harvested
    avg 3.1 per harvesting = 1.000 nodes harvested and I got 10 potent and 2 concentrated ones - i.e. equals a droprate of 1%.

Honestly guessing that the devs are not up to implement a char based drop rate it comes down to a node base drop rate. A guild mate has a drop rate of at least 5% - he is the lucky guy coming along the nodes when they have reached there drop counter >:)

To finish the upper craglorn quest to get a nirn item is much more of concern as you have to have finished the lower craglorn main quest and until last update it was a real hack. Either having a full group starting the lower craglorn quest from scratch or having to mess around that people willing to help but not able to help because they have finished the quest and are not getting access to the dungeon. (Final quest lower you need four chaps at the statues to go inside - all have to have the final quest)

I recently got a Nirncrux from the first node i harvested when i started my gathering run. This happened twice on consecutive days. After that i can run for hours without finding anything. Shall see what happens tonight.

Crafting will still be somewhat relevant as long as most dropped sets have horrible traits, especially for PvP.

I have not spent much gold on getting nirnhoned items. When I finished the Upper Craglorn main questline I got a heavy chestpiece with nirnhoned on it, I only had 3 or 4 traits researched in that slot (I was more of a dedicated Clothier and my Blacksmithing was still in it's early stages armor-wise), so I managed to research it within a few days. After that I've been farming reinforced nirncrux and traded each nirnhoned heavy chestpiece I made away for another item with nirnhoned on it. It's not a very fast process, but it is not costly either. :p

It's actually the opposite of costly. All the mats you farm can add up and if you turn around and sell them to the people who buy stacks of raw mats, you can make a tidy profit. Refining and selling the end results also works but is less profitable.
Spend spend spend! 'Cause you don't know any better.

In my opinion I think the nirnhone trait is a waste of time until they change the drop rate. We spend the time go through the dreaded grouping system to learn the trait only to find that nirncrux is almost unobtainable. I think it needs to be readjusted as this is a game. People will loose interest in it if keeps on this way.

Read the 1.5 patch notes. Crafting writs will lead to locations of upper Craglorn that can drop 4-5 nirnhoned stones according to PTS testing.

Thats why I am selling all the nirnhoned stones I have in Prod now as they will drop a lot in price once patch 1.5 in released into Prod

i have harvested 1000 nodes and not found one. Its faster for me to look for deal in a guild bank & spend my saved time making the money to buy it, than harvesting.
