Friendly Wasp

After finishing up the quests related to the Serpent River in Deshaan I was going down to get the Skyshard. I had a battle with a Wasp, and won. However upon leaving the area, I noticed this Young Wasp following me. It did not attack me, and would not take any attacks. However it did attack other mobs while in my company. Made a pretty good little tank.

Anyone else seen this guy?

There are a couple of types of wasps that you can fight. One of them (I think they're called queens) has a special attack that lays an egg on your back. If you kill the queen after she lays the egg, but before it hatches the young wasp will think that you're its parent and follow you around, fighting for you, until it eventually dies (if you don't kill the queen before the young wasp hatches, the young wasp attacks you).

I did not know if he was part of a quest, supposed to be friendly or just a glitch. It is the first time a Mob was not attacking me and helping me. Usually they are either hostile or neutral until attacked.

Yeah I had the baby following me for a while in Deshann then I logged off and he disappeared when I logged back on

Oh, and for the record, since I found out about this any time I'm in wasp territory I always try to get me a temporary young wasp follower.

I had that wasp follow me. I was hoping it would lead me to the secret wasp level, but it didn't.

I have also seen some named foxes. I tried following one hoping it would lead me to some treasure but it was just running away from me the whole time.

Named foxes? That's... mysterious. Named cats, dogs, are usually quest-related. Some hunting quest that got nuked, perhaps, with the name left behind?

Had this happen to me also, in Reaper's iirc. I felt guilty after killing his family so let it roll with me for a bit til it disappeared or died, can't remember. Love little touches like this

If you're playing in 3rd person, you can watch him hatch out of your neck.

We need a few more mobs that do this sort of thing. Also varied wasp species, some you can end up with a little squadron following you around for awhile.

I've seen named lizards not quest related. I think it was named "Monkey", no joke!

Merchant in Sentinel has a lizard named Monkey. His story is that as a kid he wanted a Monkey but you know dad's. Now he has a lizard.

Noticed it a few times and liked it. I even tried to keep the little guy a live, as I am a Templar healer. But sadly I couldn't keep it alive.

I saw cute little wasps in Grahtwood. Once it was slayed by another npc. And in that moment I had no mercy! Another just disappear after some time. But this wasps are so awesome! Would like to see pet like wasp.

I am kind of glad I did not see that to be honest. I think I would have shut the game down, turned of the PC, closed and locked the door to my office and walked away from gaming if I had seen that.....

I had a friendly wasp once, but didn't notice that it hatched off my neck... that's awesome!

Hey, I'm OK with creatures hatching out of my neck if they then proceed to follow me around and help me out. There's something fundamentally wrong with me, isn't there?
