TS3 and Overwolf

Greetings,
i am no TS3 Profi but you need this Program in Teso so often in PvP/PvE that i decided to use it. I am totally new to this, at the Moment i know how i join a channel and that is ok for me
.
But the Download from TS3 offers me the Download from Overwolf too and for sure, i dont know what this Thing exactly is or does.
I have some Question about Overwolf.
1. What is Overwolf and what can i do with this.
2. Is it important to use with TS3 or works TS3 without it too?
3. Slow this Programm my PC down or is it a dangerous for my PC safety?
4. Is this Overwolf from the same Producers that creates TS3, is this a clean/save Software? I mean the Software start and communicate with my Programms. If it isnt save i dont wanna use my Passwords, if Overwolf is online.
Maybe one of the PC Pros can help me out with my Questions.
