Large flat planes extending off of surfaces

Many things in the game have large flat colored planes(planes as in the shape) coming off of them in random directions, and when they move or the camera angle moves they go all over. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

A screen shot would be helpful along with basic system specs: cpu/gpu/vram/dram/os

Most likely your graphics card is dying.

I had a similar problem with a different game on my previous gaming system. In that case it turned out that the grass routine for that game was not compatible with the video card I had. Turning that off worked in that game for me. So you may be able to tweak graphic settings to get it to work.

It could also mean a weakness or failing component in your PC.

In any case, you should /bug the issue in-game, and check "Include Screenshot?" on the second screen -- that will send relevant details of your system spec and the issue to ESO support; they're best equipped to determine if it is in fact a compatibility issue between your hardware and the game, and if they can fix it in code. If a workaround does work, include that in your description of the bug.

Same issue here. The plane begins from the center of the screen out to a fixed point, as you rotate the camera the plane extends then disappears. Only to reappear later. I got on the game later today 13.9 and not having seen any, deduced they went away. I have increased my field of view to almost the widest angle possible. I will check my files for any decent screen shots.

This sounds like the sort of symptoms that you get when your graphics card is overheating or on its last legs. I'd recommend cleaning any clogged up dust out of the gpu fans as a first step.

Hopefully I am incorrect though, just suggesting what I think when hearing the description of what is happening.

Epona was a Romano-Celtic goddess dating back to around 1800 to 2000 years before computer games were invented.

I'll try submitting a bug report, the only thing is I can't figure out how to screenshot it. When I press alt, a menu pops up that obscures the view of the bug. Also I don't see how my graphic card is dying my computer is relatively new

It's not a bug, this isn't normal behaviour for the game, something is up with how your computer is dealing with the game.

Either your card is dying or you need to lower graphics till something stops overheating.

If your rig is new maybe send it back. What are the specs of your computer, and can we have screenshots of this.

Well, I have to ask how I would take a screenshot. To take a screenshot I press alt-prt scrn, but when I try to hold down the alt key ingame, a menu comes up that blocks the view of the problem.

My specifications for my computer are:
Processor: Intel Core i7-4900mq CPU @ 2.8 GHz (8 CPUs)
    RAM: 16 gb
Operating system Windows 7 home premium 64 bit
    DirectX version : 11
For some reason when I look up my Graphics Chip it says Intel HD graphics 4600, even though I payed for two graphics chips (8gb total), although I can't remember which ones off the top of my head
It used to say that I had that when I looked it up previously. That does make me think I might have some sort of issue with my graphics chip.

Maybe your computer is defaulting to the onboard graphics. You'd need to go into the BIOS to disable onboard graphics and specify using your installed GPU.

    Hey there @Wuggums47‌,

We don't recommend hopping into the BIOS on your system unless you are an advanced user and can diagnose and repair major PC issues. BIOS changes can often cause more harm than good if you're new to them. Not to call out @babylon of course, it's a good suggestion for an advanced user!

If you're on a laptop, the easiest way to default the other video card is to change your power profile. To do this, click on the battery symbol in the system icon tray, and under power profiles you can usually select an option to view other plans. Select the "High Performance" plan and it should help out.

If you happen to know the brand of video card you have (Radeon or Nvidia), we'd be happy to provide you with some additional instructions in order to get the game running more smoothly.

But we haven't got to the bit where we get him to unscrew the case and rejig the multiadaptive warp core transmuter, or equalise the portable neutrino emitter.

Many different ways to take a screenshot. The easiest is to use Print Screen/SysRq key on your keyboard. Another method is FRAPS. Easy download - take screenshots in game.

Hey, thanks for all your help. I called tech support for my computer and someone remotely made my computer recognize what graphics chip I have. This has fixed the issue I was experiencing and made the game look much better. The only thing is I am now experiencing a new issue where the screen goes black, but the music is still audible. As far as I can tell this is happening at random intervals. Restarting the game fixes it, but only temporarily.
