Can't chose all race for each faction

When I create a new character, say Alliance I can only choose from the 3 races below, when I change to Aldemri, race moves over to the races under Aldemeri icon, same for Ebonhart. Any help?

Working as intended. Each Alliance is 3 races, and unless you bought a special package, you can only choose from those races in the Alliance you choose.

Actually it came along with the explorer pack for preordering standard or imperial edition.

If you bought the standard edition of the game, it is working as intended.

If you bought the collector or imperial edition (or upgraded to them), then you should be able to pick any race and I would contact customer support and have them look into it.

The Imperial Edition does NOT allow you to play any race in any alliance. It was a pre-order bonus.

No, No, and No. The Imperial addition only gives you the Imperial Race, which you can create in all three factions.

Play any race was a pre-order bonus that came with either version of the game. You got a special code if you bought the retail box version of the game. From what I hear that code never expires, so if you can find a place that still has them in stock, you should be able to get your hands on a code still. If you're interested. (Personally don't think this should have been locked to the pre-order bonus but made standard.)

Completely agreed. This was a totally asinine limitation to put on an Elder Scrolls game, and was actually the very reason that a friend of mine refused to buy the game (since he didn't pre-order it).

No idea what they were thinking.

    I stand corrected. Thank you.

I'm even happier to have pre-ordered now. (Though I did not get the imperial edition, so I can't actually play as an imperial, which is fine with me)

They were thinking, what is a way we can get people to pre-order the game. Like it or not it's great marketing. I'm sure they eventually unlock it anyway to every body

    Unlikely.

However, I could see them reviving it for Console pre-orders.

The target retail version came with the ability to use all 10 races for any faction as well. May be other special editions too.

Single best decision I made was probably pre-ordering the game. Really enjoy playing my main character (Altmer Sorc - Daggerfall Covenant).

It makes pre-order bonuses for expansions much more attractive if they maintain the exclusivity, but I can't imagine they wouldn't throw the any-race-selection into the cash shop at some point.
