WANT to move FAST ????

so we have 2 ways to move fast without horses at the moment, lets compare them

BOLT ESCAPE

fastest overall speed
can be used in combat or out of combat
stuns pursuers.
can be used with best dps sets or magika re-gen sets in the game.
has actuall potent combat use (streak into group , pop batswarm = win)

ZOS is cool with this

Dark stalker + nights silence set bonus

not quite as fast as bolt escape , slightly better sustain
CANNOT be used in combat
CANNOT stun pursuers
CANNOT be used with any other 5 piece set
HAS NO combat use.

ZOS is not cool with this and wants it removing from the game.

Im not against the current situation of dark stalkers + night silence ..but
are you ok that a sneak guy can move faster than a rider ? ..honestly, do you think is right?

you still will be avaible to use the set ...the thing is ,you are no longer required to be a vampire to get the full speed.
You can : Become a vampire an enjoy your dark stalker . Or ... be a non vampire and use this set.

and for BE ..you can ignore BE by pressing block. If you are a nighblade you can use Shadowpath to have the same, or even better run speed as a bolt escaping sorcerer.

yes it has better sustain , but i think the other plusses of BE kind of balance that.

but i,m not saying BE is evil and needs to go i,m pointing out that ZOS shows no consistency when responding to whines about movement speed.

the tradeoffs for using DS and NS are fine thats how it should be. you argue that it doesnt make sense . but it does if you factor in what they give up to get that.

BE isnt what i,m against its about this stance on one method of being able to move fast versus the other.

You tired testing that in a race? BE blows out path of shadows by a mile.

Bolt Escape is receiving an AoE cap with 1.4.1(?). Thank goodness. Kinda makes you feel guilty streaking into a group and popping batswarm... 26 times straight.

But then again... Some players have built their entire character around this oversight by ZOS. It's going to be rough for them when they have to learn to pvp. :P

The set gives you max stamina, weapon critical and stamina recovery and 60% sneak speed ..its awesome for a medium armor pvp player .
21 weapon damage ? (hundings rage) armor penetration ? (night mother)
If you are a magicka user ..then you are right you are losing a lot, but for medium armor users, you dont give up much as people think.

dont get me wrong i,m not really concerned with BE as the weapon it clearly is. far to usefull as a tool to deliver pb-aoe into large groups.

its purely to highlight ZOS and their completely biased look at movement speeds.

if they think its just unnaceptable to move that speed , then surely remove any and all ways to do so.

not just one , and the one which requires most sacrifice to get and doesnt affect combat at all as a bonus.

Well seeing that the real need for this set was from the NB's that use the class skills that are used in melee range they are all typically Magicka users since 100% of those skills scale with Magicka. The ones in Medium stacking weapon damage are bow users and don't need this speed to get close enough to get a kill in melee range.

not in a race ...but I used all the time in 1vs1 against sorcerers, I catch them almost every time., except when im low on magicka.

who says its only NB's and medium users using nights silence? i have a templar and a DK using it on 5l/2h sets.

and trust me i,m giving up a lot of dps potential to use NS , i do so cos i enjoy moving at speed and i hate being ganked off my horse in cyrodill on my way to a keep or soemthing. i still use my horse , but if i think theres a bunch of gankers looking for cheap kills i sneak and this is what i find makes my game more fun for me.

So i,m ok with the sacrifice.

hamon, i feel your pain, man. but lets be smart about this, they dont care about us. if you cant beat them, join them u know? what you said in your op is true. even with the stacked bonus, BE is still better. so.....im a sorc level 3 now. i cant go back to the old nb stealth gameplay, its too boring. i prefer to level up again a new char

ive got a sorc at vet 1 sitting. i just think its downright disgracefull how they can do a comple u turn about this based on comaplints about movement speed while utterly ignoring the hands down fastest way to move in the game.

movement speed is movement speed. so surely if ones too fast so is any other way to achieve that speed..

but no ZOS are complete ........ (fill in your own expeletives)

I'm really getting tired of this insistence that you can move faster than a horse.

Okay, a horse with no points in it, I can concealed weapon/dark stalker sneak faster than that anyway and sprint faster than that.

Add night's silence and an imperial speed horse will still beat me everytime, quickly.

Add retreating maneuvers and a speed pot and then I beat the speed horse for 10 seconds and don't have much stamina left to sneak with.

And I can't use this in combat.

So now, I get the thing I was having fun with that had no combat relevance whatsoever and did not in anyway unbalance my character, ripped from me because of a bunch of self entitled whiners.

Fine.

But I want bolt escape nerfed into the ground.

If I can't have it when it has no combat implications, why the hell can a sorcerer use it to escape me mid combat or even stun me while running around without me being able to keep up.

Such complete BS... Stop balancing PVE and PVP together. It destroyed balance in gw2 far too many times and you keep doing it to eso too.

For starters.

- The vamp+ set crouch speed bonus ONLY work when you're completely crouched. So you CANNOT be in combat... So no one is using this to get away from a fight.
- Yet sorcs can still BE on and our or combat and be faster than anyone else in game. They can stack sets and have the best resource management in game and get unlimited magicka... Yet even when sneaking you're limited to your stamina pool... Cuz that makes sense?
- You have people bitching about stuff like this that obvious have no clue what they're talking about. First thing I stated is never brought up by anyone complaining. In a race vs a max speed horse, horse wins vs vamps... Vs BE... Yep BE wins!!! Yet where are the complaints about BE? I that's right, everyone's a sorc and uses BE so no one complains about it because they're all teleporting around near endlessly.
- Split things like this for pve/pvp... Remove certain sets from pvp... Remove silence.. Remove warlocks/LICH... Remove any other set that gives a blatantly "over powered" last bonus from pvp.
- Stop balancing pve around pvp. I happen to love running around in this game and taking in the beauty. I also hate having to use my horse because I hate being knocked off it and having to get off to harvest or talk to an npc. Why can't I run around in pve with this set combo and actually enjoy traveling around. I'll gladly take the fire damage hit for being able to enjoy a huge part of this game, traveling and exploring.

Since you brought it up a horse that can sprint forever has no place in the game either nerf it.

Swift 3 (Reduces Sprint cost by 12% and increases Sprint speed by 9%)
Fjord's Legacy 5pc Med (Sprint cost reduced by 15% and movement speed increased by 15%) +2 more Med Armor
Athletics 2 (Increases sprint move speed by 3% and the Stamina cost of Roll Dodge by 4% per piece of Medium Armor equipped) +21% movement speed.

Throw in Vampire's Sneak bonus...

Guess what's working as intended?

Some of Fjord's legacy can come with Well-fitted and you can craft the last two pieces with it and squeeze even more staying power out of it

No the point he was making is there are far other overpowered combos in this game and they go and nerf one that is primarily used by a class (and many of us who use NB don't use it since we're power mongers like the rest of the classes stacking seducer/warlock/light armor, etc..)... yet not focusing on things like fixing that class completely first (cloak = looking at you) or allowing BE to move so fast (yes I have a VR12 Sorc too.. I know how cheap it is and you will rarely ever catch me using it other than to make it to places unintended on the map that no other class can when setting up Siege... like so many other Sorcs do but bolt escape enables us to).

I love my NB and am glad I don't rely on vamp or this set, but really it's pathetic and a major oversight that they target something so meaningless yet leave these infinite magicka spamming builds in tact which should have no place in the game.

Not to mention = HORSES WHO RUN OUT OF STAMINA, SHOULD NO LONGER BE SPRINTING AND BE GALLOPING at best.

Heck after bringing my DK through, I can't even tell you the amount of advantages between Sorc and DK that still exist. I'm on the verge of creating some mighty in depth videos to be posted on Youtube and linked back here as well to several ESO-related forums but honestly I'm sick of seeing ZOS making silly nerfs instead of being more creative and improving on everything. It's a rock and a hard place at the moment, but it's like they need more than /bucketsplash to wake up and stop being pushed around by a few while the majority are in disagreement.

I never said ZOS was smart for fixing this particular problem before many of the other glaring issues in the game. (How horses have unlimited stamina after so many months and updates is beyond me... "AAA" MMO right here!)

But saying there are bigger problems to fix doesn't really do anything for you if you are arguing for or against this stealth speed fix.

You guys realize perma sprint on horses is a feature, right?

I just want bolt escape nerfed now. I kept my mouth shut because whatever, I deal with the imbalances and suck it up. But other people don't want to let me have my fun with things that aren't imbalanced. So anything that does what that did but is even more powerful needs to go.
