So I bought all of the armour via the new guild traders (great system btw Zenimax) and then equipped them, all the time under the assumption that this final buff would occur when I had my vanity pet out.
And no Sorcerer will ever use it! It's really nothing special. If the set bonus was cumulative (two pets = 24% Magicka) it may be useful but as it stands summons aren't exactly useful come endgame.jpredwards10b16_ESO wrote: »
What Rodario said.I don't understand how someone could misunderstand that bonus.

To my horror I discovered that this was not the case. I pulled out my mudcrab and then put it away and my stats did not change. Now being a Templar I cannot summon pets at my leisure (only the Sorceror can), which lead me to question whether this was an intentional gameplay feature or just a bug. If it is the former I have to say that I am absolutely appalled by Zenimax- why the hell would you make an armour set only one class can use? Is this really living up to your mantra "Play the way you want to play"?! I was absolutely thrilled to get to VR12, but this has really burst my bubble. My problem is not that it doesn't count for vanity pets it is that only one class can use this armour set. Zenimax could you please either completely change this final buff or at least look into making it so that it counts for other classes too?
Intentional.
Vanity Pets counting as summons would be ridiculous.
The best you can hope for it that spell crafting will allow summons for other classes, but from what I udnerstand that wont be the case.

First of all, LMFAO!!! Second, right now sorcerers are the only class with pets. I haven't tried the set out on my nightblade to see if the shade counts, but maybe someone else has insight into this. When they implement spell crafting everyone will be able to summon pets. In the meantime you have a pretty useless 5 piece set. Why on Tamriel you ever thought a vanity pet would count is beyond me and what's more is your outrage that it doesn't. I thought this thread was joke at first but it's way more funny that you are actually serious.jpredwards10b16_ESO wrote: »So I just hit VR12 and was deciding which armour sets I should be going for when I came across the Necropotence set. It most certainly will. At Quakecon they showed footage of people summoning atronachs.Intentional.

You can still use the set, you just don't get the last bonus. There are other sets that have bonuses that are more geared to other classes. It all evens out in the end.
The final bonus is what I think they are talking about... and it is pretty much sorc exclusive atm (barring the odd summon you get for a quest).

There is no resemblence between pets and summons, and people should stop refering to the summons/familiars in that manner.

Savior's Hide: Reduces cost of Werewolf transformation by 33%. Final Bonus is only for Werewolves. Should that be taken out as well? There are going to be sets that lean heavily towards different classes, races, and skills. The fact that you can't differentiate between a vanity pet and a summoned fighting beast is your problem.

Anyone can summon pets at their leisure. Why, I saw a DK the other day with a pet pig. (Why does that sound like the beginning of a bad joke..."A DK walks into a bar...")AlexDougherty wrote: »

@AlexDougherty , glad to see I'm not the only one that doesn't summon 'pets.'

@SteveCampsOut , gotta call you on this one.
As a non-werewolf, I can vouch for the fact that this set does reduce my cost to become a werewolf by 33%. However, since 67% of impossible is still impossible, I tend to not wear this set.
@jpredwards10b16_ESO, I scarcely know where to begin...
It's messed up, not that they would put a set that only one class could use, but rather that they would make a set that one class could not...
It's almost like...Robe of Syrabane...
You know, the one that probably was directed towards Sorcs...
The one that gives back a resource on successful block of a spell...
...which...Sorcs...can't...do?
62 levels in, huh?
(I'm sorry...but I can't not do this...)
