I would like to see any quest in which you use a disguise provide that costume as a reward. The goblin gem has been usable since early beta
, it's a disguise. Why they would remove it because of a single patch post-launch having an animation glitch is beyond me... I don't give a whit about roleplaying personally (and respect to the OP for stating a good argument and even recognizing that many of us don't) but I A) see no reason to remove the disguise and B.) have used it from time to time for laughs myself. Pulling random fluff from the game doesn't make sense. I also would be annoyed if I were an rp'er who enjoyed using the gem, so for that alone even I'd support this thread and ask that it not be removed. I always wanted to get my whole raid in Cyro to equip the gem and run around as a huge goblin ganking group!
Mostly Harmless has done so, it's a riot... I'm sad to see them talking about disabling it.

Oh, please. That old argument again? Slaughtering and butchering a cow is hard work too, and I wouldn't even know where to begin, but that doesn't mean I can't complain when I am served a bad burger.
We are living in a civilized trade society, where we pay for other people's expertise. When they fail to deliver on that expertise, it is perfectly OK to complain. With your argument, not even highly skilled experts in relevant fields would be allowed to complain about a complex product like ESO, because no single person would know how to do it better all on their own.
I am paying ZOS to keep me entertained. When they tick me off with stupid decisions, I reserve the right to bicker about it, thank you. I will also praise them when they do things I like. Or am I perhaps not competent to do that either as a mere mortal?

Honestly taking away what is arguably one of the coolest disguises in game because it wasn't intended is like giving a little kid a new toy and then taking it away the next day and saying oopsie I didn't really want you to have this.....

That aside just disable disguises in cyrodill, everytime something gets abused in PVP the PVE people get screwed overThat which we obtain to cheap we esteem to lightly, it is dearness only that gives everything its value.

Yes, I'm against this sort of exploitation and feel that if this is the case, it's a simple matter to have this disguise not usable in PVP zones.
Still, if one of the fuses if bad on the car, you replace it. You do not junk the car. -

✭✭✭If players are not supposed to keep this particular item, the simple solution is to make a trophy reward item with a similar effect. Perhaps you have to slay a specific number of goblins and as the reward you get a nifty trinket that lets you take on the appearance of a goblin in a similar fashion to how the skeleton one works. Or perhaps when you complete out all the quests in the zone that has the goblin quest, you are given a trophy as a reward. It doesn't necessarily have to be tied to that one particular quest. It should work the same as the skeleton costume except have a goblin appearance instead. By basing it off the skeleton one that works instead of the quest gem, you remove the exploit.
Unless of course, the skeleton one isn't a trophy and, is instead another exploit.
In which case, all I can do is sigh and say that a few costumes need to be added.

Tamanous✭✭✭✭✭I have fewer issues seeing goblins running around towns but skeletons look stupid as no town would allow undead to walk around. The skeletons have to go too asap if goblin goes.
I hope an option appears someday so RPrs can continue to use such things but with less of a visual impact on the world. Once justice system is in game have guards attack players not looking human. Edited by Tamanous on August 19, 2014 2:43PM -

Goblins (and other disguises, skellies, etc ...) are fun. So we should keep them.
However, goblins (and other disguises, skellies, etc ...), in PvP, can serve as a tactical advantage, either blatantly (reducing the hit-box), or more subtly - when disguised, other players can't see your armor type (or even, race), and thus lose an chance to make a reasonable guess at your playstyle.
Let's face it : even if both wield a 2Hander, you won't approach an Orc in heavy armor the same way you'd approach an Altmer in robes. But a goblin ?
Just disable all disguises in PvP. Give the goblin fans a similar quest reward which gives the good looks but a full hitbox
Opinions are like buttholes : Everybody has one, and they usually stink.
3 things to reduce stamina/magicka imbalance :
- Use magicka to block abilities costing magicka, instead of stamina.
- Add % damage reduction to heavy armor.
- Add block penetration to 2H. -

✭And let the Goblins surf their horses standing in the saddle for all I care. I don't mind. They are a beast race, after all, and would probably approach horseback riding with a different mentality than others.
(Actually, seriously, I think they should probably add that horseback animation, fix the hitbox, and keep the disguise, but disable it in PvP.)
