My Alt Has No Access To The System Settings The ESC Key Will Not Work

DaggerfallGirl
This issue is only happening on my 3rd character, not my 4th or my first 2. When I log into my 3rd character and hit ESC, absolutely nothing happens. Because of this I cannot access any system settings on her and I cannot log out or quit the game when I am logged in as her. My other toons are fine. I could really use some help to fix this alt please.

As it's only happening on one character, I'd assume that it's an issue with that characters key bindings (They are separate).

Escape became unbound in the settings for that character?

    Wow.

Does anyone know where that information is stored? I don't see anything client side, unless I am not looking in the right place. I suppose it could be stored server-side.

You can quit the game via Alt+F4 on a windows computer, that is the "close window" command since ancient times. It works on just about any computer game too.
Mac should have a "close programm" command like that too.
Escape became unbound in the settings for that character?

    Wow.
Afaik you cannot reassign it. So this must have been a really odd fluke in the code.
Could also be a addon broke it somehow while trying to synch keybinds. And there were odd cases where addons have blocked keys.

The settings is stored at no obvious place on the computer. Chances are rather high it is stored on the server.

My best idea is to saving the keybinds from another character and transfer them via addons.
Binder works based on chat commands, so it should be able to do it as long as chat still works:

Hi guys I wanted to update this thread with instructions that I got from customer service:

First, open the game and disable all add-ons, if you have any installed. Then use the /reloadui command.
Next, lets go into the Settings menu, and then select each of the submenus. Graphics, gameplay, etc. With each of these, select the button to set everything back to defaults.
Lets go ahead on the cog wheel on your chatbox, do the same, reset defaults.
If you still have issues, please go ahead and exit the game, and navigate to your Users directory for the game. By default, it should be found at the following:
    C:\Users\{USERNAME}\My Documents\Elder Scrolls Online
Change the folder called Elder Scrolls Online to Elder Scrolls Online_old
Now relaunch the game, it should regenerate a new version of that Elder Scrolls Online Folder.
Test it once again and see if you continue to have issues.Let me know if the issue is fixed.

I'm going to attempt these fixes and update if it works or not.

Usually, the not working escape key is due to out-of-date add ons. Since you can enable/disable addons differently on your chars, this may have been the cause why you have seen it on one only.

So disabling just out-of-date addons should do trick, already. At the very least, I'd try that first before doing anything else.

The instructions worked. I have since turned my add-ons back on and I'm waiting to see if the issue reoccurs.

This happens to me occasionally. If I restart my computer it fixes things.

I believe that everything was fixed for you after this:
First, open the game and disable all add-ons, if you have any installed. Then use the /reloadui command.
    .

The reason is that I think ESC is needed for this:
Next, lets go into the Settings menu, and then select each of the submenus.
