Do you want to see cloaks and capes in game?

Since we can now wear tabards and represent our guild, I would also like to see cloaks and capes that can represent either our guild, faction or whatever. Most people I know agree with me. I know there were dozens of mods for Skyrim that add cloaks to the game, and for me a character equipment isn't fully complete without a cloak, I even saw few loading screens in ESO with characters that wear cloaks, it means it's not unusual in Tamriel so I guess there is no 'lorebreaking' side to this. Now, I think cloaks should only be obtainable only by high levels in end game, since It's kind of a sign of badassnes. There should be (in my opinion) two types:
-Cloak - Long piece of clothing that covers your whole back and legs, and partially some front parts of body too, usually worn by mages etc.
-Cape - A piece of clothing that only covers a part of your back and is much shorter than a cloak, usually worn by assassins.
I also think cloaks shouldn't add any attributes and should only have cosmetic meaning.

Multiple threads on this already really heh.

Im totally in favor of cloaks , would be awesome to have them.

Usually in single player TES games it is just one mod away.

What would you replace to wear the Cloak? Or is this an non armor non trait non enchanted item just for looks?
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Well I would wear it instead of a tabard, in the 'disguise' slot, as I said it wouldn't add anything to you, it would be for the 'looks'.

YES, but with some variety, such as:
    • Fully or partially furry cloaks.
    • Long and short cloaks.
    • Different materials.
    • "closed" cloaks, that when you stop combat they close around your body.
    • Hooded cloaks.

Protip: QQ isn't someone crying. QQ is short for 'quick quit'.

I'd like to see cloaks and capes on outfits. They could easily be just added to torso armor. I can easily see a cuirass with a cape on it that can be dyed using one of the 3 dye bars. You can already kind of get the cloak look with a robe and hood.

Cloaks and capes are boring and hide the far better variety/appearance of your armor from a significant percent of your (and other persons) view. Tabards are bad enough, let's not add cloaks.

This game does NOT need Cloakitis.

It appears in almost every fantasy setting I can think of and is a medieval way to coat oneself.

I want just for fun costumes that can include cloaks and capes but there are caveats. If I'm carrying costumes and disguises and guild tabards and anything else they can't count against my inventory or they aren't fun anymore.

Also, speaking particularly of cloaks and capes but can include all the other current offenders they can't clip! I hate to have my hair or my weapon or that silly front apron thing clipping in and out of clothes/armor.

Yes to capes if we can use them against the wearer during fights.

In history, the Spartans regularly wore capes...in every day life. They didn't wear them into battle. *boggle* That would be an opponent's dream. A built-in rope to strangle their victim with.

So in the interest of realism, capes should be a liability in fights. :-) I want a skill that allows me to grab some cape-wearing fool and hurl him/her off a cliff. That would be awesome.

You just answered your own question.

This game doesn't have to be the same as every other, why can't people just enjoy playing the game the way it is rather than spending the whole time asking for it to be changed (usually so it's just like the rest)?

They all ready screwed up with the tabards, in that wearing one removes your front and back plates.
I don't know if its possible to screw up a cloak, but I can see them making them paper thin and crap. Cloaks need to look and feel weighty and have a little bit of movement to them when you move or attack.

Seeing as how they could do it, I on't think they will, because its too much work with everything else they got going on (This is why TES modding community was the best- devs weren't needed much- and they could make stuff better and compliment the main game).

What I Want is a sashimono. Something they cant get wrong unless they are completely off the rocker lol

Add a little bit of a wind effect, the ability to put your guild logo on it and you are good to go.

Yes- but I wouldn't pay 2.50 for a cloak, so its not relevant.
    - Let me make this clear to everyone- we paid a fair chunk up front for a couple of useless mini's, we pay a subscription fee, this isn't WoW or even GW2 (which has free online)- so they wont get away with micro charges

I'd love cloaks and/or capes in-game, as long as they make them look decent and they don't suffer from horrible clipping issues. :)

It's not like it's a change to gameplay, it's merely a cosmetic item that someone would like added to the game. It's hardly changing the game and making it like every other MMO out there.

Also, I see absolutely no issue with this if they give you an on/off toggle (like many games have) so you can choose to display them or not.
